- Rahhat Shah Kazmi (Also previously known as Rahat Kazmi) is an internationally acclaimed film director and writer known for his feature film LIHAAF co-produced by Oscar winner Marc Baschet. His other significant work includes MANTOSTAAN, based on four stories of the most celebrated Urdu writer Saadat Hassan Manto, which had its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival (2016). and upcoming Indo-American film COUNTRY OF BLIND, based on a short story written by H. G. Wells with the same title.
Rahat has won more than fifty international awards which including best director award at BAFTA by UK Asian Film festival in 2017 for MANTOSTAAN. Rahat was also nominated as best director in Bollywood ITA AWARDS (2022) alongside best known filmmakers of Bollywood Industry in year 2022 for his film LIHAAF.
In 2016, His film IDENTITY CARD's many scenes were screened at European Parliament as reference to Kashmir's situation at that time. Apart from this, Golden Globe Winner filmmaker Siddiq Barmak, used his film as a reference in his masterclass on filmmaking.
