Half Scottish and half Danish, born in Denmark in a small village on
the North Sea. Tilly grew up with her two older brothers, her father a
painter and her mother a teacher and craft maker.
Growing up in the countryside, Tilly has always had a great love for nature and animals. She even rode her beloved pony "Bilbo" to the little country school near by, tied him up and went to class. But this country girl wanted to see the world! Growing up, she spent time in Scotland and decided to live there when she was a teenager, to get closer to her Scottish roots. That was just the first stop on her journey around Europe and later America.
But her biggest dream was to live in New York City and at the age of 18 she made that dream come true. While studying documentary photography at a local collage in New Jersey, she got accepted to Parson School of Design in NYC. However, she struggled to make ends meet, with odd jobs while continuing her photography. One night she was coat checking in a trendy bar in Soho and got discovered as a model, and the adventurous country girl, who had come a long way, since she left her village with only her backpack, was about to discover a life-changing journey.
With in months, Tilly was flying all over the world shooting campaigns for such prestigious clients as Cover Girl, Esprit, Banana Republic, Avon and doing shows for Yves Saint Lauren, Burberry, Diesel and many others. With Tilly's unique beauty and vibrant personality, it is no surprise that she also became a regular face seen in numerous TV commercials.
When she was a kid she drew "filmstrips" and showed them in a cardboard box, she called it "Cinema Nights for Family and Friends." She always had a love for storytelling, theater, and film and NYC seemed to be the perfect place to explore that childhood passion even further. Tilly was referred to Acting coach Jackie Bartone (AADA) in NYC and finished her training in 2004. Shortly after she landed her first female lead in Dark Horse, which was nominated in Cannes Film Festival and 15 other festivals around the world. Tilly was nominated for her charming and quirky performance as best actress in her native Denmark at The Zulu Awards. Later she starred with Meg Ryan, Cloris Leachman and Annette Bening in the movie The Woman.
Tilly lives in New York City and is keeping her craft alive, continuing to develop and expand her creativity, studying with legendary Wynn Handman.
