[This story contains major spoilers from the second and third episodes of Bad Sisters season two.]
The Bad Sisters fate of Grace, the eldest Garvey sister, in season two wasn’t an easy choice for creator and star Sharon Horgan.
The idea for her — spoiler alert! — death originated in the writers room, but was initially rejected for being too grim. Ultimately, her fate played out first in fragments at the end of episode two, when Grace gets into a car crash, and then expanded on in episode three, released on Wednesday, with Grace’s funeral.
“We had the idea about what would happen but then we dropped it, because we thought, ‘I don’t know if we can continue the tone of Bad Sisters with Grace dying.’ It felt too dark,” Horgan tells The Hollywood Reporter of the back and forth around Grace’s fate. “Then we ended up going back to it because we couldn’t really see a world where...

Not everything needs a second season.
“Bad Sisters,” created by Sharon Horgan, Brett Baer, and Dave Finkel, and based on the Belgian series “Clan,” was one such series, neatly wrapping up the eponymous Garvey sisters’ story with ten episodes that premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022.
But of those many shows that should have left well enough alone, a rare few manage to pull off that second installment (if not more beyond that) with — if not resounding success, then aplomb. “Bad Sisters” didn’t need a second season, but Horgan and her team execute the near-impossible task of picking up, building out, and smartly continuing the story, even if Season 1 remains superior.
Season 2 catches up with the sisters — Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Eva (Horgan), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene), and Becka (Eve Hewson) — a few years after the other four planned to kill Grace’s husband, only for her to end up killing him herself.

[This story contains major spoilers from Bad Sisters season one and the first two episodes of season two]
Following the success of the first season of Bad Sisters on Apple TV+, creator and star Sharon Horgan had the challenge of coming up with a fresh storyline.
In the first season, four of the five starring Garvey sisters plot different ways to kill John Paul (Claes Bang), the abusive husband of their sister, Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), only to have John Paul die at the hand of Grace herself. With that villain vanquished, Horgan still wanted season two to have the same kind of energy as well as the continued emotional pull for the audience toward the sisters.
“[I was] just thinking about how to give everyone the same level of entertainment and story and emotion, really. How to make it feel like the first season, but feel completely different as well. To keep the sort of DNA of the show,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the first two episodes of Bad Sisters Season 2.] A shocking ending capped the dynamic two-episode premiere of this Irish dark comedy’s second season. The loving, squabbling, and now heartbroken Garvey sisters will have to carry on without sensitive, vulnerable Grace (Anne-Marie Duff). She died in a nighttime car accident while frantically fleeing the home she shared with her kind and dreamy second husband Ian (Owen McDonnell). Grace had recently confessed to him that she murdered his predecessor, the monstrous, controlling Jp (Claes Bang). The revelation shocked her four siblings in the first season but since they’d all independently tried to kill “the Prick” anyway, they joyfully kept her secret. Bad Sisters creator and executive producer Sharon Horgan, who plays pragmatic Eva Garvey, the eldest, told us why she chose to let the beloved and fragile Grace go (click on the video above ...

I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 of Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters… and at the same time, I didn’t see any need for it to continue with a Season 2.
The pitch-black comedy, centered around a tight-knit group of Irish sisters who all come under suspicion when one sister’s jerk of a husband ends up dead, was a morbid delight in its freshman run, powered by terrific performances and a bracing dose of gallows humor. But the story tied up so neatly in the end that a second season seemed unnecessary. Well, we’re getting one anyway — the first two episodes...

The first season of Bad Sisters was an unexpected hit for Apple TV+, earning fans and four Emmy nominations. The Prick is dead — long live Bad Sisters! Oh yes, whilst we may have finally found out how Claes Bang's despicable John Paul met his grisly (and thoroughly well deserved) end at the climax of Bad Sisters Season 1, the story of the Garvey sisters and their killer secret is far from over. Season 2 of Sharon Horgan's whipsmart, blackly comic adaptation of Belgian crime comedy Clan is just around the corner, and the first trailer for the new series sees siblings Eva (Horgan), Becka (Eve Hewson), Bibi (Sarah Greene), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), and Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) all back and trying to protect one another as the police — and Fiona Shaw's newcomer Angelica — close in. “Bad Sisters,” Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated dark comedy-thriller, is finally returning for Season 2, and it got a new trailer on Tuesday. The trailer promises further complications for the five Garvey sisters right when things are finally getting better for them, as they try to keep their murder of John Paul (Claes Bang) a secret while a new character played by Fiona Shaw (“True Detective: Night Country”) is onto them. The trailer is scored by an Irished-up version of Fiona Apple’s “Criminal,” which opens with the lyric “I’ve been a bad, bad girl.”
“Bad Sisters” premiered in 2022 and earned four Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Sharon Horgan (“Catastrophe”), who also co-created the show with “New Girl” veterans Brett Baer and Dave Finkel and serves as executive producer. After the deadly acts of season one, Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters returns for its second season as the central siblings face increasing suspicion and fear about what they did.
In the trailer released Tuesday, the women are first seen atop a cliff and opening the trunk of a car as showrunner and star Sharon Horgan’s Eva assures them that everything’s going to be Ok. But then, in a microcosm of the concerns sprinkled throughout the second season preview, the women are startled by something they see inside the trunk.
The trailer jumps ahead to Grace (Anne-Marie Duff) getting remarried to a man named Ian (Owen McDonnell) as Eva again tries to offer reassurance, saying, “After everything that happened, things are finally looking up.”
But as Grace dances with Roger (Michael Smiley), who helped her kill her abusive husband J.P. (Claes Bang), he asks if she ever...

The Garvey sisters are not off the hook quite yet. The new trailer for “Bad Sisters” season two hints at a potential stabbing, another dead body and more secrets to come.
“Bad Sisters” season two follows the lives of the close-knit Garvey sisters played by Sharon Horgan as Eva, Anne-Marie Duff as Grace, Eva Birthistle as Ursula, Sarah Greene as Bibi and Eve Hewson as Becka.
Two years after the “accidental death” of Grace’s abusive husband, the Garvey sisters have not yet escaped the secrets of their past. When new evidence resurfaces, the five sisters are thrusted back into the spotlight, and they must determine who they can really trust.
Grace gets remarried in the first trailer for the Apple TV+ original. Her sister Ursula walks her down the aisle to meet Ian (Owen McDonnell), the man who her dead ex-husband never was. But Grace still has not shed the secrets from her past.

The Garvey sisters are back – and dealing with another body – two years after viewers last saw them on screen.
In the first trailer for Season 2, which is set two years after the events of Season 1, Eva (Sharon Horgan), Grace (Anne-Marie Duff), Ursula (Eva Birthistle), Bibi (Sarah Greene) and Becka (Eve Hewson) are apparently trying to move on with their lives, with troubled Grace getting a second chance at love.
But the past – including Grace’s dead husband Jp (Claes Bang) – seems determined to haunt them while the present throws up another corpse.

It’s been two years since Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters broke bad… but they haven’t gotten away with it yet.
The streamer has released a trailer for Season 2 of the pitch-black comedy (premiering Wednesday, Nov. 13), with the Garvey sisters picking up the pieces after the “accidental death” of Grace’s jerk of a husband John Paul. Grace has moved on… and is even getting married to a new bloke named Ian, played by Owen McDonnell. They’re not mourning the loss of John Paul, either: “The world is better off without him,” Ursula insists. “Even the Pope would say that.

The Garvey sisters are making their way back to our screens this fall, and I absolutely can't wait! I'm so excited for Bad Sisters season 2. There's some shows that honestly don't feel like they need a second season. And with the way season 1 ended, it could have worked where the story could have ended there. But, clearly there's more to tell. And when it comes to this show, I don't mind another installment at all.

Introduction Adaptations of the works of Charles Dickens are numerous. Like ‘Shakespeare,’ if you can think of an alteration to the text, it has been done. Dickens' characters have sung, worn modern clothing, and even been played by muppets. FX in partnership with Hulu, has recently released their newest version of ‘Great Expectations’. The show sets up the classic story in an engaging way. Dickens’ penchant for poetry shines through Pip, the orphan who dreams of a better life. ‘Great Expectations’ follows Pip as he tries to rise in the social hierarchy. Young Pip is played by Tom Sweet. He combines a poetic and romantic disposition with an ambition that makes him stand out. He is raised by his cruel sister Sarah, played by Hayley Squires, and his kind brother-in-law Joe, played by Owen McDonnell. These characters not only give Pip a template to contrast himself with, but they also use him to their advantage.
