Cristie was born on December 6, 1966 in Denton, Texas, USA at 6:30 a.m.
CST. She was raised in Denton, Allen, and McKinney, all in Texas. She
was born deaf with some hearing (partly deaf) in the left ear. She wore
a hearing aid in the left ear since age 4 but she also lip read and
uses American Sign Language. The doctors kept saying that rubella
measles is the cause the birth defect, however, there is no evidence to
prove it. Also, she is Irish, Scotch, Native American Indian and Anglo
American but doesn't know which Indian Tribe she belongs. She loves
Animals and children. She attended public schools instead of going to
deaf school and college.
On August 13,2012, Cristie received cochlear implant after she lost remaining of her hearing in the left ear. Now, she can hear with it but it takes a lot of training for hearing therapy. Her dad died of heart attack on September 3,2006. Her mom died on April 7,2013 after she lost her battle with bladder cancer.
