One of the coolest and most beloved sub-genres for thriller, action, and drama fans is the spy genre and there’s a good reason. In a spy film or series, we get complicated and cool characters who put their lives on the line by going against numerous people and instead of always letting their guns talk they use more covert tactics, which are always thrilling to watch. So, Netflix being what it is, it has a large library of content and also some of the best spy shows you can find and that’s what inspired us to compile a list of the best spy shows you can watch on Netflix right now.

When putting together the new Netflix series “The Recruit,” creator and showrunner Alexi Hawley said it was “important” for him to show a diverse cast as well as fill his writers room with talent from all backgrounds.
“If I don’t do that then that’s on me,” Hawley told TheWrap during a recent interview.

The internet's love affair with Noah Centineo began somewhere between "The Fosters" and "To All The Boys I've Loved Before," both of which followed lovestruck teenage boys navigating classic high school drama. But ever since that Netflix trilogy came to a close, Centineo has been changing up his image to leave those schoolboy days behind. Shaving his head? Check. Co-starring in a superhero movie? Check. Taking the lead as a hero? Almost check. Bagging a crime thriller instead? That works! So I guess it's official — between his "Black Adam" stint as the young metahuman Atom Smasher and his upcoming role in Netflix's "The Recruit," Centineo has entered his action star era.
Inevitably, it's always hard to accept the next chapter of an actor's career, but that feels especially true for the performers whose signature role is a doe-eyed teenage boy. Personally, Centineo still falls in the same bucket as Tom Holland...

"Don't get cute. Do your business, and get out." Good luck, young one! Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a darkly comedic suspense series titled The Recruit, created by Alexi Hawley, of the "State of Affairs", "Castle", and "The Rookie" series previously. This one is about a young lawyer, not your typical CIA series, considering it's about someone trying to deal with the CIA's (internal) dirty laundry. A fledgling lawyer at the CIA, played by Noah Centineo (from To All the Boys I've Loved Before & Charlie's Angels), becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime. The series' cast also includes Laura Haddock, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Vondie Curtis Hall, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Byron Mann, Angel Parker, & Kaylah Zander. ABC is making some decisions about its remaining pilots, and it's bad news for three promising ideas.
Kevin Costner-executive produced National Parks Investigation, Triage, and Dark Horse are no longer moving ahead at the network.
The good news is that National Parks Investigation and Dark Horse are both being shopped to other outlets, but the jury is out on whether Triage will be shopped.
National Parks follows the elite special agents of the Investigative Services Branch who are tasked with solving the most complex and heinous crimes committed within the diverse and majestic National Parks of the Isb’s Pacific West region.
The cast included Billy Cambell, Angel Parker, Gerardo Celasco, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, Blu Hunt, Tiffany Dupont, and Guillermo Diaz.
Something tells us this one would serve as a good companion to Yellowstone over on Paramount.

ABC is passing on three more drama pilots from its 2021 pilot season slate.
“National Parks Investigation,” “Triage,” and “Dark Horse” have all been passed over by the network after being in consideration for midseason pickups. Fellow dramas “Epic” and “Promised Land” remain in contention.
“National Parks Investigation” boasted Kevin Costner as co-writer and executive producer. The series revolved around the small group of elite Nps agents as they solve these crimes while protecting America’s national parks.
The cast included Billy Campbell, Angel Parker, Guillermo Diaz, Tiffany Dupont, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, Blu Hunt, Gerardo Celasco. Along with Costner, the show was written and executive produced by Aaron Helbing and Jon Baird. It’s been a busy day at ABC.
The network has handed series pickups to pilots The Wonder Years, Queens, Maggie and Abbott Elementary and passed on pilots including Sam Esmail’s Acts of Crime and comedies Black Don’t Crack and Bucktown.
But there are five pilots that are still in consideration for the 2021-22 broadcast season, including Kevin Costner’s National Parks Investigation, that will be considered for midseason.
These also include Dark Horse, Epic, Promised Land and Triage.
Dark Hose, Epic and Promised Land have yet to be filmed and will be considered after the upfronts, while the off-cycle Triage pilot was produced and went through a rollercoaster ride of a poorly received first cut, highly testing second cut and so-so screening response. National Parks Investigation was considered a wildcard for fall consideration but a final, broadcast-length cut of the pilot, was not delivered in time.
