Sunil Sadarangani is a Mumbai-born, Los Angeles-based award-winning producer and writer, having been a part of international film projects for over 15 years and worked with productions from the US, India, Sweden, Germany, Lebanon, France, Australia, and the U.K. Productions include award-winning feature films September Tapes (First Look Media) and The Answer (Amazon Prime); and the international doc-series World Religions (Al Jazeera Network featuring a two-hour interview with The Dalai Lama). He has produced award-winning short films In Transit (Shorts TV/ Oscar nomination qualifier), Blind, Nova, With You and How Much Do You Want To Know?
He is the co-founder and former director of programming of the Ojai Short Film Festival. Programming included Academy Award-nominated and winning films, and episodic series from studios such as Sundance TV/AMC Networks. Sunil is a member of the Programmers of Colour Collective, is on the programming committees at Outfest and Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, and is a recurring jury member at Los Angeles Greek Film Festival.
Sunil is a contributing writer for Deadline Hollywood, New York Amsterdam News, and American Kahani. He also covers film and TV artists of color at leading film festivals and industry award events such as Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, The Indie Spirit Awards, The Golden Globe Awards, and The Academy Awards.
Sunil is the co-founder of and Producer at Omagination Pictures, a production company representing and producing South Asian creators and their stories. He is instrumental in securing IP content as well as forging associations with industry executives and creators for the company.
The California State Senate has recognized him for his ongoing commitment to creativity and innovation in the Los Angeles community.
