Elie Snaifer

Elie Snaifer was a Lebanese comedian, actor and playwright. He was born in 1935 in the town of Hadath south of Beirut Lebanon. He began his acting career on stage in the early 1950s. He achieved fame playing different roles among which are The Dumb in Al Akhrass, also The Umbashi and the chief mayor in Meiss El Reem, a musical by the Rahbani Brothers. He was a regular on the weekly TV show Aboo Melhem which ran for almost two decades. He was versatile and very talented and is considered one the legendary actors of his period. He received the Golden Murex award also received the National Presidential Honor of the Chevalier Order. He died in 2005 and is buried in his hometown of Hadath in Lebanon.
