Jazz Pierre is an award-winning, conservatory-trained, Zimbabwean-born actor who boasts vast experience on stage, film, voice acting and in public speaking. She has worked professionally in the industry since the age of 11 where she was the lead voice actor in Africa's first animated feature-length film, "The Legend Of The Sky Kingdom". Jazz worked on numerous stages in Zimbabwe including her own show, "The Silent Knights" which she toured around the country and performed at the Harare International Festival of the Arts.
In 2010 she moved to New York City to pursue training and a career in America and in 2013 she became a proud graduate of the 3-year conservatory training program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and of the Academy Theatre Company. After graduating, Jazz played a leading role in "The Lost Colony" directed by Ira David Wood III in North Carolina which won the Tony Honor that year. Other notable NYC credits include "Moonfleese" by Across The Pond Theater Co, "She Calls Me Firefly" by New Perspectives Theatre Co and "Scene's of a Sexual Nature" by The Water People Theater with screenwriter Aschlin Ditta. In 2016 Jazz moved to Los Angeles and continued in theater with leading roles in "Sweet Love Adieu" and "Macdeth" by Rogue Shakespeare Co which won the International Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2016.
Jazz has since moved her focus more to film. In 2020 Jazz was featured in Sundance Film Festival in the festivals first ever LGBT+ Showcase, "Be Scene". Her self-written short, "Underwater" won her a partnership with Decoded Artists who produced another original work of hers, "Metamorphosis" which is still making its festival run worldwide. Recent work includes a few short films in post-production including, "Not Us" by Red Seed Films, "Clocked" by afi and "t4t" by AFI. Jazz is a current member and acting coach at Actnow - LA's only LGBT+ acting sanctuary. Most recently in 2023 Jazz appeared in an LA Times article about Actnow where the class is quoted as "fostering the new Hollywood." She has wrapped on My Best Guy Production's next short, 'Last First Kiss' and Sunday Production's 'Robbies' and will continue to build her future in film.
