Season 18 of NBC’s summer mainstay America’s Got Talent concluded Wednesday night with a finale at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium which culminated with Adrian Stoica & Hurricane named the winners.

Also Wednesday night, NBC announced officially that America’s Got Talent has been renewed for Season 19, which will air next summer. “America’s Got Talent” has crowned its newest winner.

As Season 18 of the NBC competition show wrapped up its two-part finale on Wednesday evening, the series unveiled its champion as dog act Adrian Stoica and Hurricane. After making it to the final round of the show, Stoica and Hurricane won the $1 million grand prize and a headlining performance slot in “America’s Got Talent Presents Superstars Live” at Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stoica and Hurricane were voted as this installment’s winner after wooing over judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofía Vergara, alongside 10 other finalists who performed during Tuesday night’s two-hour airing.

Fellow finalists including singers Lavender Darcangelo and Putri Ariani, choral groups Mzansi Youth Choir and the 82nd Airborne Chorus, dance groups Murmuration, Chibi Unity and Avantgardey. Comedian Ahren Belisle, magician Anna DeGuzman and acrobatic duo the Ramadhani Brothers were also among the 11 finalists.

The “America’s Got Talent” season 18 finale on September 27 concluded with the announcement of this year’s million dollar act. Eleven acts competed in a two-hour show on September 26 after earning enough votes from the public in the qualifiers. NBC has announced that last year’s winner of “America’s Got Talent,” The Mayyas, will return to the reality TV show that made them a household name during Wednesday night’s Season 18 finale. Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) announced today that since its inception in 2008, the nonprofit has over $795 million pledged to fund critically needed cancer research.

Commemorating SU2C’s progress over the last 15 years, the organization’s biennial telecast aired on Saturday, August 19 and highlighted special moments with stars across film, television, sports and journalism who have supported the SU2C movement throughout the years.

NBC will strip its U.S. remake of hit U.K. game show The Wheel across two weeks in an unusual scheduling move.

The series will launch on December 19 at 10pm and will move to 8pm for its second week with new episodes airing nightly.

It comes after the show was left off the network’s midseason schedule unveiled last week.

Created and hosted by British comedian Michael McIntyre, who hosted the version on the BBC, each hourlong episode follows 6 celebrity guests spinning, advising, and supporting contestants battling it out for a chance to win over 100k.

The premiere episode will see Cat Cora, Christina Ricci, Amber Ruffin, Steve Kornacki, Mark McGrath, and Todrick Hall assist competitors across a range of categories from Beyoncé and the ’90s to elections and more.

Exclusive: Guy Fieri is cooking up another chapter of Tournament of Champions as Food Network renews the competition series for Season 3.

Set to return Sunday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt, Tournament of Champions III will feature two-hour long episodes and 32 talented chefs vying for the $100,000 grand prize, the largest reward in the tournament’s history.

The skills and abilities of the best chefs from the East and West coasts will be pushed to the limit, as host Guy Fieri spins the dreaded 5-wheeled randomizer that determines each cook-off: the protein, produce, equipment, cooking style, and time. The two-hour televised event on Ktla 5 raised more than $1.1 million meal delivery service for people facing debilitating illness. Hosted by Eric McCormack and Ktla News anchor Jessica Holmes as well as Loni Love and Alec Mapa, the evening began with a surprise greeting by Ringo Starr and included appearances and performances by Rufus Wainwright, Gloria Estefan, Jewel, Pauley Perrette, LeAnn Rimes, Vanessa Williams, Matt Bomer, Jimmy Smits, Jennifer Tilly, Cat Cora, Sandra Lee and Yvette Nicole Brown. Curtis made a $10,000 donation from her family foundation. A reading by Hollywood medium Tyler Henry went for $15,000.

City National Bank donated $100,000. Love presented her $25,000 winnings from a recent appearance on ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud” to the organization.

Eric McCormack is joining Ktla anchor Jessica Holmes to host a Project Angel Food live telethon on July 17.

The station will broadcast the event, called Lead with Love 2021, from 7 Pm to 9 Pm, and it will be streamed live on Hulu, as well as the Ktla and Project Angel Food websites.

The event is presented by City National Bank and will raise money for expanded Project Angel Food service, with a client base of 2,300 per day, compared to 1,500 per day before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The organization was founded in response to the AIDS pandemic in 1989, and provides food delivery service to Los Angeles clients with critical illnesses including Covid.

Celebrity Chef Cat Cora has filed a lawsuit against New York restaurant Fatbird — a Southern-themed restaurant which opened in June that Cora is a partner in.

According to the lawsuit — which was filed with the Supreme Court of the State of New York on Monday and published online by Eater — the former Iron Chef America contestant is suing the restaurant for “breach and anticipatory breach of contract” and is seeking “no less than $400,000.”
