Matthew graduated from high school in Nagoya, Japan. He returned to
Portland, Oregon, and graduated from University of Portland with a
Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Performance in 1996. Since then, he has
acted and directed around Portland in a number of professional theatre
companies. Recently, a company he co-founded, Readers Theatre
Repertory, finished its 13th Season and will be starting its 14th
Season in September of 2014.
In June of 2008, Matthew made the leap to move to Hollywood, California, to pursue acting as a full time job. Within his first year, he found himself cast in 4 feature films. By his second year he was working on directing. And by 2012 he was engaged to his soul mate.
In January 2018, Matthew and his wife launched their production company, Fearless Imp Entertainment. Their first production was a #MeToo inspired telling of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" with his wife, Cyanne, playing Lady Macbeth.
