Heather Maristella
- Actress
Heather Maristella (born Heather Freedman) was born in Honolulu, Hawaii
and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina by a family who has been in
showbiz for over a century. Thanks to her French Vaudevillian and
circus performing great-grandparents and her musically gifted
grandparents who traveled the U.S. performing magic shows and variety
acts, Heather grew up immersed in a world full of magic, creativity,
and imagination. As far as Heather was concerned, there were no limits
to what anyone was capable of doing.
After starring in high school plays & musicals, Captain/Choreographer of her high school's hip-hop/dance team, and winning Homecoming Queen, Heather went on to major in Theatre at East Carolina University; home to Sandra Bullock, Emily Proctor, Kevin Williamson, and Beth Grant. She was chosen to appear in the annual "Freshman Workshop" showcasing her many talents, and gained wide acceptance from her peers and the acting community. While at ECU, she performed in over 20 productions such as My Fair Lady (1964), Picnic (1955), and Barefoot in the Park (1967), helped write and choreograph "Bad Ballet I," and starred in the hilarious comedy Noises Off... (1992).
After graduating "Summa Cum Laude" with a B.A. in Theatre and a minor in Communications and French, Heather relocated to Los Angeles, and within a few months of her arrival was handpicked by Nora Ephron for the movie Bewitched (2005) starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell. Heather then went on to star in a number of independent films including Rockabye (2007) which was accepted into the Blue Grass Independent Film Festival (2007) and These Days (2006) with fellow alumni Beth Grant.
