Dominik Kuhn, a native South German, started out as a producer in the
live event business and as a touring sound engineer in 1987 before in
the mid-nineties he made the conversion to moving image producer and
eventually to writer-director. Until the end of 2009, as a creative
strategist he wrote and directed advertisement and image films for
Europe's big agencies and brands, as well as for the European branch
for Hollywood industry. His specialty in advertising film are uncommon
visual worlds and tongue-in-cheek boards, which made him to one of the
most sought after specialists for viral campaigns in Germany. Since
2009, he is creator, writer, producer and voice actor of his own TV
show "Die Welt auf Schwaebisch" on German national broadcaster SWR
Fernsehen. The show is based on the principle of dubbing over movie
snippets, news and other footage in broad native south German accent
and with funny new, sometimes bizarre meaning, which he became famous
for with more than 50 clips he did on YouTube, based on the same
principle. His Star Wars spoof "Virales Marketing im Todesstern
Stuttgart" ("Viral Marketing at Death Star Stuttgart") has scored to
date more than six million clicks on various Internet video platforms,
and has become mandatory viewing for marketing people in the
German-speaking part of the world. The pilot of Dominik Kuhn's TV
format brought many viewers from the Internet back in front of their TV
sets, and is on air since 2009.
