On the JoBlo Movies YouTube channel, we will be posting one full movie every day of the week, giving viewers the chance to watch them entirely free of charge. Today’s Free Movie of the Day is a sci-fi thriller with a dose of comedy and a knock-off Freddy Krueger-type running around to bring some attempts at scares along the way. The movie is called Portal Runner, and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with the 2001 video game of the same title.
Coming to us from director Cornelia Duryée, who was working from a script crafted by her assistant J.D. Henning and her son Tallis Moore, Portal Runner tells the following story:
15 year old Nolan is blessed with the ability to travel to parallel worlds– and cursed to be chased through them by a monstrous Evil. When he gets stuck in a parallel world, with a sister he’s never met,...

Jumping straight into the action from the first second, Portal Runner introduces us to a 15 year old boy, Nolan, who has the ability to travel through parallel worlds with the use of mirrors. Unfortunately for him, there is an evil being chasing through these worlds, and when he gets stuck in a world with a sister he has never met, he must convince her to help him and the rest of their family.
There have obviously been sci-fi movies that involve travelling through parallel worlds and universes but I can’t say I have personally seen that many of them and maybe that’s part of the reason that Portal Runner felt highly original to me. I have said previously that...

"What's with you and all these mirrors?" Terror Films has released an official trailer for a sci-fi adventure family film titled Portal Runner, formerly known as Alter-nate, about a teenager who discovers a secret family legacy and a portal than enables him to travel to parallel worlds. If only this could live up to that potential! Nolan is a boy on the run through parallel worlds, trying to stay one step ahead of a monstrous evil that destroyed his family. But, when he winds up stuck in a world with a furious older sister he's never met before, he realizes she may be the key to defeating his adversary. Why does this sound like the plot of a "Rick & Morty" episode? Starring Sloane Morgan Siegel as Nolan, with Carol Roscoe, Brian S. Lewis, Denny McAuliffe, & Elise Eberle. Big concept with a tiny budget, it looks like an only-on-vhs cult fave.

Just when Christian Bale thinks he has the market cornered on eerily accurate transformations into notorious, um, larger-than-life Republicans, Russell Crowe is here to be like, “Hold my beer.”
Showtime released the first trailer on Tuesday for “The Loudest Voice,” its new limited series about late Fox News founder Roger Ailes, played by Crowe, who’s nearly unrecognizable under all that makeup and prosthetics. Premiering Sunday, June 30 at 10/9c and based on Gabriel Sherman’s book “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” the series chronicles Ailes’ rise to power at the right-wing network to his downfall, when he was ousted in 2016 amid numerous sexual harassment allegations (he died in 2017).
In between Ailes growling about “fairness” and “balance” and scream-scheming — “We’re gonna give them a vision of the world the way they want it to be” — in the trailer are quick shots of him running his hands down Gretchen Carlson...

Roger Ailes lays out his “fair and balanced” vision for Fox News in unsparing terms in the teaser for Showtime’s upcoming limited series, The Loudest Voice, premiering June 30th.

The new clip teases Crowe’s portrayal of Ailes as a cunning man hell-bent on getting whatever he wanted, whether political power, ratings or women. Amidst his Fox News scheming — “We’re...

Nearly three years after he was ousted from the network he helped make a cable news behemoth and two years after his passing, Roger Ailes is still an unmistakably influential figure in American politics. The mastermind behind Fox News is the subject of the upcoming series “The Loudest Voice,” which network Showtime took one more step towards unveiling on Tuesday.
In the series’ first trailer, Russell Crowe stars as Ailes, playing the TV exec from the inception of the cable news channel. “The Loudest Voice” is built around Fox News’ on-screen breakthrough into shaping the mainstream conservative agenda and showing Ailes’ behind-the-scenes behavior, which eventually led to a series of lawsuits, including one filed by former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson (played here by Naomi Watts).
“The Loudest Voice” supporting cast is bolstered by a number of performers playing Ailes’ real-life counterparts in the building of the Fox News empire.

Russell Crowe’s portrayal of the controversial Fox News chief Roger Ailes will be coming to Showtime on Sunday, June 30, the network has announced.
Showtime has also released an unnerving first look trailer for the miniseries, in which Crowe’s Ailes takes over Fox News and starts bending it to his will.
“Here in America, television news is king,” the character says. “We’re gonna give them a vision of the world the way they want it to be…we’re way past politics, it’s war.”
The trailer more than hints at the sexual harassment allegations which brought about Ailes’ downfall, as the character is seen touching Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson, played by Naomi Watts, who looks extremely uncomfortable with his actions.
The series is based on Gabriel Sherman’s bestselling book, “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” and tells the story of Ailes and his rise and fall at Fox News.

Showtime has set its eagerly awaited limited series about former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes to debut this summer, while final season of “Homeland” premiere in the fall.
Gary Levine, co-president of entertainment at Showtime, made the announcements at the television critics association press tour Thursday. Production on the eighth and final season of the Emmy-winning “Homeland” will begin next week.
Not much is known about the final season of “Homeland,” which stars Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin. Last spring, showrunner Alex Gansa said that the final season won’t feature any parallels to Donald Trump.
“We’re going to start fresh in Season 8 and probably do a fairly big time jump between 7 and 8 and put any Trump parallels behind us,” Gansa told Entertainment Weekly. “We’ll tell a very contained story, hopefully in Israel.”

Brian Lewis, formerly the right-hand man to Roger Ailes at Fox News, has hired a lawyer and could be preparing for a bold action. Earlier this month, Lewis was fired from Fox News and escorted out of the building. At the time, a Fox News spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that Lewis' departure was the result of "financial irregularities" and "multiple, material and significant breaches of his employment contract." A conservative Tea Party organization launched an anti-msnbc campaign Thursday that will involve sending emails to 2.3 million people urging them to dump the channel’s parent company, Comcast, as their cable TV provider. The campaign, from FreedomWorks, also includes an online video that focuses entirely on Al Sharpton, an MSNBC host the organization portrays as “a known race-card hustler” and believes its membership has a particular disdain for. “By paying your Comcast cable bill, your money is helping to pay for Al Sharpton’s salary … Switch your cable provider now,” the video says. Brian Hibbard, who has died of prostate cancer aged 65, first found fame as a member of the Flying Pickets, a group of actors who left the socialist playwright John McGrath's 7:84 theatre group to woo audiences through their a cappella singing. They topped the pop charts in 1983 with a cover version of Only You, trumping Yazoo, the duo of Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke, who had reached No 2 with their original recording. This Christmas No 1 single and the group's flamboyant look – gaudy suits, large hats and Hibbard's massive sideburns – led to brief stardom for the Flying Pickets, a name coined because some of them had supported the miners during their strikes of 1972 and 1974. They hit the Top 10 again with another cover,...
