Gylve Fenris Nagell was born in Kolbotn, Oppegård, Norway as Leif Gylve Nagell and is a Norwegian musician and politician best known as Fenriz. He changed his name to Gylve Fenris Nagell in the 1990's. When Nagell was five years old, He recived the Uriah Heep's album, Sweet Freedom (1973) for his birthday from his uncle, this was Nagell's first exposure to heavy metal music and ignited his love and obsession for metal music. Nagell plays mainly drums but also second guitar, vocals and partial bassist (shared with Ted "Nocturno Culto" Skjellum), for of one the most influential Norwegian black metal bands, Darkthrone.
In 2015, Nagell became a vice councilman in Oppegård council. His 2016 election campaign consisted of him holding his cat Tom Kalender with the caption, Don't vote for me!
