Yesteryear’s screen heroine and pan-India actress Jamuna’s death on Friday morning has evoked a flood of condolence messages from Tollywood, cutting across political camps. In her heyday, Jamuna, who passed away aged 86, had starred alongside Ntr, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Jaggayya, Krishna, Sobhan Babu and Krishnam Raju. And in her later years, she had worked in movies with the younger generation of Telugu stars.
Taking to Twitter, Balakrishna and Ntr Jr, the late Ntr’s son and grandson, respectively, condoled Jamuna’s passing.
“As a bubbly mischievous girl, fiery sister-in-law, homemaker and above all. as the on-screen Satyabhama of Telugu people, Jamuna garu is unforgettable. My homage to the departed soul,” Balakrishna tweeted.

She breathed her last at her residence, family sources said.
Jamuna, who acted in about 200 movies in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi, is survived by a son and a daughter.
She was born at Hampi in Karnataka on August 30, 1936, but her parents Nippani Srinivasa Rao and Kowsalya Devi moved to Andhra Pradesh. She received her primary education at Duggirala in Guntur district and was a stage artist in her school days.

The first looks of Keerthy Suresh and Samantha have been released already and have set the expectations high. With Vijay Devarakonda’s look also being out, fans just can’t wait for the film’s release. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this biopic on the late actor Savitri will have Keerthy Suresh playing the title role while Samantha will be seen as a journo on whose perspective the life of the legendary actor will be narrated.
