New Delhi, Sep 26: "C.I.D", one of the longest running detective shows on television, will air its 1000th episode Friday. The episode will show the team investigating a case related to a dangerous island with life threatening situations.

The crime show has been running successfully for the last 16 years.

"I am overwhelmed with the audience's response. Completing 1000 episodes is really a great achievement for the whole 'C.I.D' team. I wish and pray to keep growing in the same flow and complete 1000 episodes more," said Shivaji Satyam, who plays Acp Pradyuman in the show, in a statement.

Mumbai, June 24: Members of the TV crime show "C.I.D." actor Dayanand Shetty and director B.P. Singh will leave for Uttarakhand Tuesday to lend help to victims of the devastating floods in the hill state, said a source.

Thousands of people are said to be either stranded or have gone missing after unprecedented rains and cloudburst led to landslides and flash floods, killing hundreds of people in the state.

"C.I.D." is the longest running crime show on Indian television. Running successfully since 16 years, it features actors like Shivaji Satam and Aditya Srivastava. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television.

Mumbai, Jan 29: The longest running crime show on Indian television, "C.I.D." has completed 16 years. Dayanand Shetty, who plays Daya in the show, says children have been hugely responsible for the show's success.

"If 'C.I.D.' has sustained for 16 years, a lot of credit goes to kids. A lot of kids watch our show and they are very involved with the show. Like we used to play 'Chor Police', they have renamed it, now it's 'C.I.D.'. They play 'C.I.D. - C.I.D'," the 43-year-old said here Monday while celebrating the show's success.

A special episode of the popular show, produced by B.P. Singh, involving kids will be aired soon. Dayanand.

Mumbai, May 30: Indian television's longest running detective show "Cid" might soon be a film, says producer B.P. Singh, promising more action, a unique storyline and different styling with the same cast.

"There will be a film on 'Cid' with the same cast, but one main villian will be from outside," Singh told Ians, adding that he was not sure about the time frame.

Launched Jan 21, 1998, on Sony, "Cid" has so far aired more than 615 cases in over 824 episodes.

At age 62, B.P Singh, the producer of the record-breaking television series Cid, has made his debut as an actor. Singh plays Saif Ali Khan's boss at the Raw (Research & Analysis Wing) in Agent Vinod. Shy to speak of venturing into an entirely unknown arena at this age, Singh says, "Sriram whom I've known for many years kept saying he'd cast me in his film. I didn't take him seriously. I was surprised when he actually called me for this role. I was in the Us at that time. I rushed back to hear what Sriram had in mind." Singh thought it would just be a cameo. "But I've good 6-7 scenes with Saif. I was hesitant about how to approach the role. Everyone in the cast was more experienced than me. When I saw the film I thought I could've done much better." Singh is open to other acting offers.
