Katie Cecil(II)
- Actress
Kaitlyn Jenea Cecil was born on the 30th of July 1993, in Wheeling,
West Virginia, but has spent most of her childhood in Weddington, North
Carolina. From the time Katie could talk, she was performing for her
family, as well as an assortment of stuff animals and baby dolls. Her
parents first noticed she had very special talents at the age of five
when they heard her singing "Part of Your World" from The Little
Mermaid while she was bathing, and thought it was a CD playing in her
room. She hasn't stop singing since, and her favorite place to perform
is still the shower. When Katie was eight, she finally convinced her
mom that she "needed an agent so she could study acting and singing for
two years, then audition for two years, so she could `make it' by the
time she was 12." Katie met with local agencies and eventually signed
with an agency in Charlotte, as well as Hot Shot Kids/Teens in Atlanta,
Georgia, where many famous young actors have received their start, and
where Katie did regional work as an actress and model. At ten, Katie
caught the attention of agents and managers in NY and LA, at a national
talent event. She spent the summer of 2004 in NYC working with her
management company and her agency, where she booked an as yet
unreleased feature film entitled "Serial" with writer/director Kevin
Arbouet, whose prior projects include "Monster's Ball" with Oscar
winner Halle Berry. After many flights back and forth between North
Carolina and New York City, her parents were advised to take Katie to
Los Angeles during pilot season. Katie and her mom spent eight weeks in
California during this process, at which time she booked her first
pilot. The WB's untitled Chuck Ranberg-Anne Flett-Giordano comedy
starred "The Practice" alumna Camryn Manheim as a single mother with
three kids who moves into a new neighborhood filled with soccer moms.
Katie played Ms. Manheim's youngest daughter on the pilot. Returning to
LA in the fall after spending the summer back home in North Carolina,
Katie has booked guest appearances on two of televisions hottest shows
- "Medium" (The Reckoning, episode #2.10) and "Criminal Minds" (What
