The Season 4 alum and newly crowned American Idol judge recently took a walk down Memory Lane.

In a Reel posted on American Idol’s Instagram page, Carrie recalled her early life and how her love of singing brought her to audition for the most popular singing competition on TV.

In the recording, Carrie looked back at her time on American Idol more than 20 years ago when she sang in front of then-judges Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and Simon Cowell.

Mabe, whose exit was first reported by Country Air Check, was appointed Umgn chair and CEO in April 2023, leaving the post less than two years into the role. The executive was the first woman to lead a major Nashville label group, succeeding retired chair and CEO Mike Dungan as Umgn chair and CEO after he stepped down in 2023.

Jelly Roll is heading to Hollywood. The Nashville-born artist joins the American Idol team as an “artist in residence,” an ABC representative confirmed to Rolling Stone on Tuesday. In the new title, Jelly Roll will appear during the show’s “Hollywood Week,” where judges weed out weaker contestants, and other segments within the 23rd season.
