Mads Mikkelsen ("Hannibal," "Casino Royale") is set to star in Diego Rafecas' drama "First Law". Set in the jungles of Argentina, Armand Assante and Adriana Barraza co-star.

The Fixer

Melissa Leo will join James Franco in Ian Olds' "The Fixer", a film based on the novel by Bernard Malamud. Filming takes place in California and Morocco this Summer.

Sylvie's Love

Larenz Tate ("Rescue Me") will star in and produce Eugene J. Ashe's "Sylvie's Love" which is set against New York's jazz scene in the late-50s and early-60s.

• Russell Brand, Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars), and Austin Abrams (The InBetweeners) are reportedly in talks to star in Vernon God Little for director Werner Herzog (The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call – New Orleans). Based on Dbc Pierre’s Booker Prize-winning novel, the story is a dark, satirical portrait of a Texas town in the aftermath of a school shooting told from the point of view of its 15-year-old protagonist. No word yet on when production might begin, but it's probably safe to say Mikkelsen will be the face of that evil company. The psychological horror flick, penned by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, follows "a small-town mortician who receives a mysterious homicide victim,­ a beautiful young 'Jane Doe,' with no apparent cause of death." Berlin – Mads Mikkelsen, the star of NBC's Hannibal and Thomas Vinterberg's Oscar-nominated The Hunt, has joined First Law, a feature written and directed by Argentine helmer Diego Rafecas (Paco). Veteran actors Armand Assante (Judge Dredd) and the Oscar-nominated Adriana Barraza (Babel) co-star in the feature, for which Stealth Media Group is handling international sales. Stealth will be showing footage of First Law to buyers at the European Film Market.
