Hailing from Orange County, California, Christiane Cargill Kinney is a captivating adult contemporary folk artist with a gift for melodies and a fluid, soulful voice. An International award-winning songwriter and performing artist, Christiane has frequently appeared on Music Connection Magazine's Annual Hot 100 Unsigned Artists list (with her band Riddle the Sphinx), and she has received recognition from the Billboard World Songwriting Contest, the International Songwriting Competition, and the Global Music Awards, among others. Her music has been featured in various independent films, and bears "the same rich texture as a major motion picture soundtrack" (Nerdy Frames).
Christiane has been a musician for as long as she can remember, begging to take piano lessons at the tender age of three, even though her legs were still too short to reach the pedals. She continued to study music through college, graduating with a degree in piano performance from UC Irvine. Her experience as a musician led her to law school, where she studied copyright and entertainment law, leading to a successful career as an attorney, heading up the Entertainment Industry Team at LeClairRyan, LLP, in charge of 26 offices nationwide, before launching her own boutique entertainment firm, Kinney Law, P.C.
Christiane focuses her legal practice on entertainment law transactions, licensing, and the protection of brands, particularly in the areas of music and film. Her personal experience as both a creative artist and an entertainment attorney provides a unique perspective to the deal-making process.
