In his busy career, he produced a number of independent feature films including Guadalupe the Virgin (2011) starring Diana Garcia and Noah Segan, Hagar Ben-Asher's drama Dead Women Walking (2018), and the coming-of-age film, Summer of 8 (2016). McGuire made his debut as a feature-film writer and director with Aquarians (2017), which critics referred to as an "intelligent, introspective and compelling drama." He is a member of the PGA and the Television Academy, and resides in Los Angeles with his wife Melissa and their two sons.
