Discovery Channel is launching a virtual talk show hosted by Expedition Unknown's Josh Gates.

Josh Gates Tonight will premiere at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, with a special Earth Day episode. When it came to capturing real-life extreme sports, the upcoming Point Break remake really pushed things to the limit. Thanks to the assistance of some tremendously talented athletes, the movie features all kinds of daring and terrifying stunts . from riding giant waves to motocrossing along a mountain ridge. Perhaps the most breathtaking in the film, however, is a wingsuit sequence filmed in Walenstadt, Switzerland. and what you probably don.t know is that it was a hugely risky thing to shoot. In Alcon Entertainment’s fast-paced, high-adrenaline action thriller Point Break, a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill-seeking elite athletes – led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a spate of crimes in extremely unusual ways.

Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the architects of this string of inconceivable crimes.

The film, inspired by the classic 1991 hit starring Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, is scheduled for release in 3D and 2D in select theaters on December 25, 2015.

The new film is shooting on four continents, including North America, Europe, South America and Asia, with stunts performed by the world's top 'extreme sports' athletes:

Alcon Entertainment’s action-thriller Point Break, starring Édgar Ramírez, Luke Bracey, Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer and Delroy Lindo, begins principal photography today, it was announced by Alcon principals Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.

The production will film on four continents, including North America, Europe, South America and Asia, and features stunts performed by the world’s top extreme sports athletes, as opposed to stunt performers. Locations set for filming include Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Venezuela, French Polynesia, India and the United States. Alcon will release through its output deal with Warner Bros. Pictures.

DreamWorks Animation has shifted around its release schedule so that the upcoming "Madagascar" spin-off film "The Penguins of Madagascar" will score a release on November 26th this year. Washington, April 8: Gerard Butler has been banned from performing heavy duty stunts in his upcoming remake of 1991 film 'Point Break', it has been revealed.

Guinness World Record holder Garrett McNamara, who has surfed the largest wave ever, and Jeb Corliss, who famously leapt off the Eiffel Tower, have been brought on board to perform the 44-year-old actor's stunts, the Daily Star reported.

But it seems like the producers want to elevate the thrill, and are going to bring in sports professionals as doubles for the film, which involves sky diving and surf riding exploits, considered risky even for professional stunt.

Broderick Johnson and Andrew A Kosgove have been chatting about the Point Break remake

We might be going out on a limb here, but it seems that not too many of you are too excited for the remake of Point Break. The new film is being directed by Ericson Core, and is being produced by Broderick Johnson and Andrew A Kosove. They're the pair who have produced Wally Pfister's Transcendence. Point Break's remake will star Luke Bracey as Utah and Gerard Butler as Bodhi.

Whilst promoting Transcendence, Johnson was asked about Point Break and got talking about the footage shot so far. "We’ve shot some extraordinary footage with our surfers. And we were in the Italian Alps with the greatest extreme snow boarders in the world, shooting footage. We’ve actually been in photography on the film, beginning our stunt work with our real athletes.

Three extreme-skydiving enthusiasts accused of parachuting off the 1 World Trade Center tower last fall were arrested Monday, authorities said, in a second criminal case in two weeks arising from surreptitious stunts at the nation's tallest skyscraper. The three daredevils and someone accused of being an accomplice were facing charges including felony burglary in a Sept. 30 leap from the building, where a teenage boy was arrested on March 16. Authorities said the teen had slipped through a gap in a fence, eluded an inattentive security guard and spent about two hours atop the 1,776-foot-tall tower.
