Brother of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who has sung background vocals for Erran's band Zohar.

Following the release of Borat (2006), the Kazakhstan Philharmonic commissioned him to compose a symphony. The subsequent work "Zere", scored for a 70-piece orchestra, was performed in London and Kazakhstan and also recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
