- Maximiliano "Maxi" Contenti is a filmmaker from Montevideo, Uruguay.
His passion for movies led him to create a large variety of awarded short films from an early age. In 2008 he made his first feature film, the indie horror-comedy Muñeco Viviente V (Puppet Pal V) Maxi's 2012 documentary "Hélices" (Blades) won the Best Documentary at the AtlantiDoc Festival in Uruguay. In 2017 he co directed the Uruguayan horror-comedy "Neptunia" (Available on Filmin, Spain).
In 2020 he premiered his horror film The Last Matinee (Al Morir la Matinee). The film was praised internationally. It has been an official selection at Sitges, PanicFest, Milwaukee, Calgary Underground, Cleveland and numerous International film festivals, including the A list Mar del Plata Film Festival (Argentina). It also won Best Film at the Curtas Festival in Spain among several other awards. (Available on Amazon Prime , Paramount+, Showtime, AppleTv, Hulu, Shudder and Arrow)
In 2023 he released his music documentary feature Hot Club of Montevideo (Official Selection 28th E Tudo Verdade / Its All True Documentary film festival, Brasil)
Currently (2024) in production of "The Channeling" a found footage horror and "Webmasters" a comedy drama based on a true story.
