2022 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the independent film production and distribution company The Asylum, the company known for bringing us some of the craziest giant monster and mockbuster movies out there. And they’ve decided to celebrate their anniversary by putting together what is basically the Avengers: Endgame of Asylum movies. A film that sees the human race having to deal with multiple Asylum movie monsters at once – and it even acknowledges that these monsters have been pulled into our reality straight out of Asylum movies! This Asylum multiverse mash-up is called 2025 Armageddon, and you can see for the trailer for it in the embed above.
Directed by Michael Su (Death Count) from a screenplay written by Marc Gottlieb (Aquarium of the Dead), 2025 Armageddon has the following synopsis: A militant alien race launches an attack on Earth using gigantic creatures and geological disasters all based on those found on The...

When an experiment into a new source of natural fuel goes disastrously wrong, a rash of massive hurricanes rips across North America. A scientist, originally responsible for the design of the new power plant but who has walked away from the project, must get his family to safety before the hurricanes merge, creating a “hypercane” with the power to wipe America off the map.
A ridiculous plot, terrible CGI and a former Hollywood superstar slumming it with a bunch of B-list actors… Seems like a step back for mockbuster kings The Asylum if you ask me – especially when their recent films have see the company step up production values and storytelling to craft some great direct-to-market films.

One of the many great things about being a horror fan boy and reviewing movies is finding these great little gems that go in your back pocket to pull out for those moments when you want to make a stellar, but obscure recommendation. A suggestion that will almost surely merit a response kind of like “That movie was awesome! I can’t believe that I haven’t heard of it before.” I have two genre films that are my go to recommendations. An amazing zombie comedy flick called “Hide and Creep” that’s up on YouTube in its entirety, and this very solid werewolf flick.

Night Of The Living Dead 3D: Re-animation
Stars: Andrew Divoff, Jeffrey Combs, Sarah Lieving, Robin Sydney, Adam Chambers, Melissa Jo Bailey | Written and Directed by Jeff Broadstreet
A prequel to director Jeff Broadstreet’s 2006 3D “remake” of Night of the Living Dead, Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation (that’s one hell of a long title) follows mortician Gerald Tovar, Jr. (Divoff) who inherits the family mortuary and exposes hundreds of uncremated bodies to toxic medical waste – at first accidentally and then later on purpose. As the corpses re-animate, Gerald’s inheritance-seeking younger brother, Harold (Jeffrey Combs), unexpectedly shows up and stumbles upon Gerald trying to keep the zombie outbreak under control. Sibling rivalry gives way to madness as Harold discovers Gerald’s dark secret – the freshly exhumed and zombified corpse of their father.

Marcy Rubin
A veteran of international media sales and distribution, Marcy Rubin brings an extensive understanding of the ever-changing international marketplace to the table. Over the past 25 years, she has arranged financing via foreign pre-sales for over 100 independent films. After graduating from American University in Washington, D.C., she headed to Los Angeles and has worked at Merv Griffin Productions, Cinema Entertainment, and Kodiak Films. For the past 20 years, Rubin held the position of international sales executive at the prominent international production and distribution company, CineTel Films. During her tenure at CineTel, she developed a vast network of contacts with international distributors, television broadcasters, and financial institutions, and serving on the board of directors of Ifta, the trade organization of the independent film community (1996 and 1997). Now a sought-after member of that community, she speaks on various panels about the international marketplace. The next logical step for Rubin was to launch her own business, which she did in 2011: Blue Galaxy International, a full-service international distribution company with global representation. Fiorenza Cella Fiorenza Cella, founder of the video distribution company Free Dolphin Entertainment, began her career as a journalist with the Italian TV network Italia Uno (Mediaset). Her experience in London, where she worked with the BBC to develop youth programming, helped to spark her vision of a world connected via entertainment media. Cella catapulted her international savvy into the creation, in 1995, of Free Dolphin, headquartered in Paris. Within five years, she brought the company into the major leagues with the sale of television rights to both French and Italian networks, and Free Dolphin rose from a fledgling enterprise to a force in the industry. During 16 years at the company helm, Cella forged solid relationships with the heads of major channels in France, Italy and Spain. Today she is again building on her talent. As a partner in Blue Galaxy International, Cella has turned her attention toward global distribution and production, a natural path for the media pro.

A new Facebook page has launched for Jeff Broadstreet's Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation that's home to lots of eye candy both from the flick and behind-the-scenes. Some are even in 3D if you have some glasses handy! Dig it!
Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation stars Andrew Divoff and Jeffrey Combs. A prequel, the story begins one full day before the zombie outbreak occurs in the 2006 film. Also starring are Sarah Lieving (The Dunwich Horror), Robin Sydney (The Lost) and Denice Duff (Subspecies) as “Sister Sara”, a Sarah Palin-esque figure who unwittingly walks into the zombie outbreak and meets a fitting end. If only this were the real world! We don't think Palin could ever handle herself in a "squirmish" with the dead.

Well bugger me! Fresh from a semi-rant earlier today it seems we have our second piece of 'shark' related horror news of the day. As if there was any room left in the release schedule to force another shark flick in we're gifted with news of yet another shark-related DVD release. This time it's for Fred Olen Ray's ('Bikini Royale 2') low-budget horror 'Super Shark'. The trailer coupled with the movies tagline, 'That's one big ass shark!', gives great insight into what we can expect from the release hitting DVD in February 2012. Hot actress Sarah Lieving -below ('Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation') leads the way as a marine biologist. John Schneider, Tim Abell, Jerry Lacy, Ted Monte and Jimmie Walker all co-star and you can check out the highly realistic plot concept and trailer below. So whether sharks are the simplest creature...

Holy crap. I mean — holy crap. The trailer for “Invisible Mom 2″ director Fred Olen Ray’s upcoming monster movie “Super Shark” is packed to the gills with fish-related mayhem, so much so that I really don’t think I need to watch the entire movie. The embedded trailer is two-and-a-half minutes long, and features a large number of the flick’s flesh-munching kills. Why suffer through a pointless narrative when you can easily digest all of the highlights in a fraction of the time? I’m just saying. Synopsis junkies are about to get their fix: An offshore drilling accident triggers the release of a giant prehistoric shark. When marine biologist Kat Carmichael (Sarah Lieving) arrives, she runs up against corporate frontman Roger Wade (John Schneider, The Dukes Of Hazard, Smallville, Desperate Housewives), who plots with Stewart (Jerry Lacy, Dark Shadows) to disrupt her investigation. With the help of Skipper Chuck (Tim Abell,...

Are you ready for a giant shark that can walk on land? Are you ready to see a giant shark walk on land? Then you’re ready for Super Shark? If you’re not, you better get ready because this whale of a killer that makes Jaws look like Flipper is surfacing on DVD in early February.

Last week may have been “Shark Week” on TV, but this music video trailer for Fred Olen Ray’s Super Shark set to the tune of a blacksploitation styled theme song composed and performed by legendary R&B crooner Harvey Scales is the true discovery.

We warned you it was coming, now behold the cheesy goodness (?) that is the UK trailer for Mega Shark Vs Crocosaurus. Synopsis: In the Atlantic Ocean, the unsuspecting battleship USS Gibson is viciously attacked and destroyed the beast. The sole survivor is Lt.Terry McCormick (Jaleel White), a man experimenting with a sonic shark-repelling device. Meanwhile deep in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigel Putnam, an English hunter (Gary Stretch – Dead Man’s Shoes / Alexander) successfully captures a giant crocodile out to devour him whole. After loading the highly sedated crocodile on to a cargo ship, with its eggs intact, the ship is suddenly attacked by the vicious Mega Shark, waking the crocodile from its sleep and unleashing hell as the terrifying ancient beasts clash. Together McCormick and Putnam joined by Special Agent Hutchinson (Sarah Lieving) must pool their resources to save the world from the gigantic beasts and their killer offspring.

Back in early December of last year, I read a newspaper article in which the author bemoaned moviegoer's lack of interest in serious cinema.
Rather than flocking to The Hurt Locker or The Green Zone, people seem more interested in lowbrow popcorn crunchers than an "important film." Never mind that attendance is down across the board, and even expected hits like (*shudder*) Little Fockers didn't drawing in the expected crowds. And the author didn't anticipate the success and staying power of both True Grit and Black Swan.
Nope, this writer's overriding concern was that until our socioeconomic situation improves, serious films will continue being shunned by the public. With such a brilliant summation, that it's no surprise that the author is syndicated, while I just post on a blog.

Ask yourself, what can they come up with after Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Urkel. Well, we have the answer for you and it doesn't concern my own creature Crocaloctopus (yet). Now we have Super Shark which has John Schneider and Jimmy Walker attached to it along with Sarah Lieving and Jerry Lacy . There isn't an official synopsis released yet but you can guess what all it included. Lot's of mutated creature feature action battling yesterday's stars and a crazy walking tank, you heard me. The creature feature is directed by Fred Olen Ray and is set to air later this year.

Just when The Asylum though they had the market cornered on movies featuring mega-sized sharks, here comes Fred Olen Ray's Super Shark to up the ante with a giant land-walking shark that does battle with a walking Sherman tank mech.
Undead Backbrain got the exclusive update on the Hollywood Chainsaw Hooker's director's foray into the world of mega-sized carcharodon mayhem, including both new artwork and the exclusive new trailer. Fighter jets get bitten out of the sky, oil rigs are toppled, bikini babes are terrorized, Jimmie Walker says "Dy-No-Mite!", and a shark flippers its way onto land to do battle with a tank straight out of General Patton's steampunk fantasies. What more could you possibly want?
A former "Dukes of Hazzard" star, you ask? You got it. John Schneider stars. As does Sarah Lieving, whom you may recall as the female lead in The Asylum's Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus.

Well, well, well. It looks like it’s not only big screen monster movies that are getting the sequel treatment, as The Asylum announce they are to produce a sequel to their hit film Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.

Not content to just have in production Mega Python vs. Gatoroid starring Eighties pop princesses Debbie Gibson and Tiffany, The Asylum is also pressing forward with Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus, and this time their stunt casting dips into 1990's pop culture with the announcement it will star none other than Jaleel White, best known to fans of "Family Matters" as that lovable nerd Steve Urkel.
Joining Urkel will be "Star Trek: Voyager"'s holographic doctor Robert Picardo, Gary Stretch (Alexander), and Sarah Lieving, who must really love goofy monster shark flicks since she'll also be seen soon co-starring in Fred Olen Ray's Super Shark Attack.
Chris Ray, the son of Fred Olen Ray, director of the yet-to-be-released Reptisaurus and Megaconda, continues his passion for giant killer reptiles by sitting in the director's chair for this sequel to last year's Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus. This time the massive prehistoric...

As you'll see in this "Shark Week" parody teaser trailer for his latest creature feature Super Shark Attack, this gigantic shark not only rules the ocean as the ultimate predator and can "Air Jaws" with the best of them, you won't even be able to escape on shore now because this sucker can walk on dry land.
