In 1989, he co-founded Post Mortem Theatre Company, with whom he conceived, co-directed and appeared in Once Upon A Time/Endgame, which paired Samuel Beckett's play with an ITC-approved staged version of the penultimate episode of Patrick McGoohan's cult 60s TV series "The Prisoner". The production played at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at The Green Room, Manchester and, by invitation, in Portmeirion, Wales where "The Prisoner" was filmed. The production also featured a cameo from UK live music icon and "Prisoner" fan Jools Holland and an original score by William D. Drake, ex UK cult band Cardiacs.
Gained a First Class Honours degree in Drama from the University of Manchester, then a Masters in Screenwriting (with Distinction) from the University of Sheffield, where he studied under Andrew Davies and Jack Rosenthal.
