David Joseph(VII)

Let me begin by introducing myself. I am David Joseph, a Linden, New Jersey, native who has lived in the Tri-state area for most of my life. Over the past fifteen years, I have focused my energies on positively affecting people through television production and media I am multi-dimensional Director/Producer who creates thought provoking work in various spaces Live television, Non Scripted & Scripted, Sports, Talk Show, Docuseries, and Music programming these vehicles used to carry out my passions have come in many forms, which I will highlight below. Upon graduating at Kean University and successfully completing an internship with the Viacom Networks (BET), I was offered a full time position at the network where I began my career as a Production Assistant. Under my direction I help create Throwback Thursday's on BET's Rap City which quickly grew into a show staple garnishing an average 15 percent ratings rise. Additionally, I also helped to create Spring Bling's Rides, Rims & Runways and Wild Out Wednesdays on Bet's 106 & Park. By 2008 I had established myself as an accomplished videographer, editor, and Producer for the network when I pitched what would become the networks Voting Initiative You Choose which I directed and produced, later that year I would also Produce and Direct my first fully televised Special Crank that vote. A special where we want nation wide registering 100,000 youths to the cause of voting. The special was highlighted on CNN and garnered the top network rating for that quarter. In 2010 I began to diversify myself as a producer and transitioned into the scripted space working on shows such The Game, Being Mary Jane, and Read Between the lines before going back to Live television producing MTV's Hip Hop POV. In 2014 I was blessed to work on the highly praised featured length documentary Time Is Illmatic which was centered around Nas's classic Illmatic album. That same year I was blessed to Produce MTV's Sucker Free. Shortly their after I began producing Fuse News and then Centric's documentary series Being. In 2017 I produced my first film Perception of Violence (P.O.V) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival's Creative Minds Screening to a standing ovation. My client list includes ABC, ESPN, HBO, NIKE, MSG, MTV, VH1, BET, Sony Records, Atlantic Records, Lifetime Entertainment and several other organizations and networks.
