Dan Smith was born in Long Beach, California, but grew up in Salt Lake
City, Utah. He found his love for special effects when he had a
prosthetic ear made for him as a child. He went on to do makeup effects
in several haunted houses and has worked independently and with various
shops. He currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife and 2
children.
