Mortiis was born on 25 July 1975 in Skien, Norway. He is a composer and actor, known for Mortiis: A Dark Horizon (2019), Broken (2006) and The Devil's Chair (2007).

Former bass player with metal band Emperor. After that, he started on his own solo project, making dark ambient, but later began playing more electronic/industrial music.

Grew up with Kiss, Alice Cooper and WASP.
