Exclusive: Paul Alan Smith is revamping his ESArtists (Equitable Stewardship for Artists). A unique hybrid, operating as an agency and management company since its 2013 launch, ESArtists has been rebranded as Equitable Mgmt and will function solely as a management firm.
The company has expanded its leadership team as Smith and his partner Lee Rosenbaum are being joined by four newly minted partners: Tyler Reynolds, Neda Niroumand, Varun Monga and Sonia Gambaro. Each will have a stake/ownership in the company, and the six partners will have equal say in all decision making.
Smith, a veteran TV lit rep, decided to change the makeup of his company after taking a close look at the top ranks of Hollywood agencies and management companies and being struck by the lack of diversity, especially when it comes to women in leadership positions.
“My first step was to make my immediate colleagues my equals,” Smith said.

Crash (Caleb Ruminer), you are dead to us. We don't care how cute you are on Finding Carter. You shot Max (Alex Saxon), and that's just unforgiveable. At the end of last week's shocking episode, Carter (Kathryn Prescott) was all set to run away with her boyfriend Crash, but wanted to say goodbye to her Bff Max one last time so he could get a message to her "mom"/kidnapper Lori (Milena Govich) before she disappeared. But Crash got impatient, interrupted her conversation with Max and held him up at gunpoint, demanding all the money in the cash register of the convenience store that Max works at so he and Carter would be set to start their lives somewhere else. And the previously adorably...

Things are finally good for Carter after her life got turned upside down in the series premiere. But you know what that means, right? Even...

Along the same vein as “Switched at Birth,” MTV's latest dramatic entry looks to parental nightmares for dramatic fodder. While the ABC Family show looked at a mix-up at the hospital that switched two babies, sending them home with each other's families, “Finding Carter” explores a much darker premise. The story starts off with Carter (Kathryn Prescott) enjoying her idyllic life with her apparently single mother, Lori Stevens (Milena Govich). But her entire world unravels after she and her friends get busted breaking into a ferris wheel after hours. Her friends get to go home, but when authorities dig into Carter.

There’s something appealingly retro about MTV’s latest scripted offering—and not just because Finding Carter bears a striking resemblance to Caroline B. Cooney’s beloved 1990 novel The Face on the Milk Carton. (You may know it better as the inspiration for a TV movie that aired in 1995).
These days, shows for and about teenagers tend to fall into one of two categories: the Ryan Murphy-esque dramedy (high-energy, soaked with pop culture references, alternating wildly between irony and sincerity; see MTV’s own Faking It or Awkward. for examples), or the Gossip Girl-ian glitzy melodrama (think privileged...

We have the first new drama series commissioned by MTV‘s new programming team under president Susanne Daniels. The network has picked up hourlong pilot Finding Carter to series with a 12-episode order in the kind of success story that inspires young writers. Up-and-coming scribe Emily Silver, a story editor on Bones, originally penned Finding Carter as a writing sample, which was sent to ABC Family and MTV in 2012. When Mina Lefevre moved from ABC Family to MTV to head scripted development in January 2013, she put the project on a fast track. Veteran Terri Minsky (Sex And The City) was brought in as executive producer and, following a quick rewrite, the script landed a pilot order, which has now been followed by a series green light. Finding Carter, directed by Scott Speer is about teenage girl Carter (Kathryn Prescott) who seemingly has the perfect life with fun-loving single mom Lori...

'L&O' gavels Roache; ABC taps Glover
Linus Roache has joined the cast of NBC's Law & Order, while Danny Glover is set to recur on ABC's Brothers and Sisters.
Meanwhile, Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson and Anne Dudek have landed recurring roles on Fox's hit medical drama House, and "L&O" alumna Milena Govich has come on board Fox's upcoming drama series K-Ville.
Roache will play the new assistant district attorney who succeeds Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) after McCoy's promotion to DA.
Roache is one of two new major casting additions to the Wolf Films/Universal Media Studios-produced drama this season, along with Jeremy Sisto, whose character replaced Govich's Detective Nina Cassady.
It's a reunion for Sisto and Roache, who starred together on NBC's Kidnapped last season.
On Brothers, from ABC Studios, Glover will play a new love interest to Sally Field.
On House, Wilde, Penn, Jacobson and Dudek are expected to play characters who will be brought in after the resignations of House's (Hugh Laurie) underlings Foreman (Omar Epps) and Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and the firing of Chase (Jesse Spencer).

Sisto flashing 'Law' badge
Jeremy Sisto is returning to NBC next season with a starring role on Law & Order.
Sisto, who played the lead on NBC's Kidnapped last season, will play a detective on "L&O," which is returning in the fall for its 18th season.
"I've watched Jeremy's career evolve and grow, and I am absolutely thrilled that he has decided to join 'Law & Order, ' " "L&O" creator/executive producer Dick Wolf said.
Sisto is not a stranger to the veteran crime drama. He guest-starred on the show's 17th-season finale last month, playing a defense attorney. He now will play a brand-new character, which is expected to replace Detective Nina Cassady (Milena Govich).
Sisto's deal to join "L&O" comes on the heels of Fred Thompson's announcement Wednesday that he is leaving the series, on which he played District Attorney Arthur Branch for the past five seasons (HR 5/31).
Sisto, probably best known for his role on Alan Ball's critically acclaimed HBO drama Six Feet Under, co-stars in Adrienne Shelly's indie romantic comedy Waitress.
He is repped by ICM and manager Robert Stein.
