As aKido, Kim Gaboury released five albums and received nominations at A.D.I.S.Q., G.A.M.I.Q., the CBC Bucky Awards, and the Independent Music Awards. His distinctive sound has led to scoring projects such as Inside the Mind of Leonardo (starring Peter Capaldi), Et au pire, on se mariera, Coteau Rouge, Maïna (Canadian Screen Award nominee), Wong & Winchester (SOCAN Award for National Television), and Classé Secret, which earned a Prix Gémeaux for Best Score. He also composed theme music for CBC's Grands Reportages and Zone Info, and has collaborated with artists including Millimetrik, Pawa Up First, and Will Driving West.
Kim began playing guitar at age 12 and performed in indie rock bands (Magma Dogma, Zolof) before briefly pursuing a career in graphic design. He returned to music full-time in 2004 and began working in film scoring alongside Michel Cusson, contributing to projects like Cavalia, The Rocket, and Dinosaurs Alive! IMAX. Their collaboration continued with the acclaimed series Unité 9 and À coeur battant.
Today, Kim continues to craft emotionally resonant scores, working closely with filmmakers to bring their stories to life through music.
