“…the year is 2052. The world seemed to be on the verge of unprecedented peace and stability and the painkiller drug ‘Hapna’ developed by lauded neuroscientist ‘Dr. Skinner’ has had a lot to do with it.
“Pervasive throughout the world with no known side effects, Hapna is said to have freed humanity from pain.
“But then, Skinner suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. Three years later, he re-emerges as a prophet who brings countless deaths and the end of civilization.

One of the most beloved creators in all of anime is returning to Adult Swim. “Lazarus,” the newest show from “Cowboy Bebop” director Shinichirō Watanabe, will premiere on Adult Swim on April 5 at midnight during the network’s Toonami programming block.
Described as a sci-fi thriller set in the year 2052, “Lazarus” revolves around a miracle drug called Hapna that claims to free anyone who takes it from all pain. But the supposed panacea comes with a horrific side effect: everyone who takes it will die. The series follows a group of agents who only have 30 days to find the vaccine and save all of humanity.
“Three years after ingestion, Hapna will mutate, killing all those who have taken it. But you should know that I currently have the cure,” Dr. Skinner (David Matranga) menacingly says in the trailer for the upcoming series. “So unless you find me within that time,...

One of the most unique and wholesome student-teacher relationships in the My Hero Academia universe is the one between Katsuki and Best Jeanist. While their interactions began as a way for the former number 4 to teach Bakugo about control and etiquette, it developed into a deeper and unbreakable bond. By the end of the series, Katsuki would go on to risk his own life to keep his mentor safe from Shigaraki's relentless attacks.

While there are plenty of great punches in anime, only a few are worthy of being called satisfying. For a punch to be satisfying, there needs to be a couple of conditions met. The character being punched needs to deserve it wholly, and the person doing the punching needs to know it. The more annoying, smug, or even downright evil the character is, the more satisfying the punch. The most satisfying punches in anime come from characters who didn't have the chance to land the punch earlier. Now, however, the situation has changed, and they are ready to give their opponents everything they have coming.
A character can punch another character once or dozens of times, and they can both be just as satisfying. So long as the puncher has a good reason to strike, and the punchee has equal reason to be struck, it can be one of the...

Dragons are a staple of anime, which is why the best anime dragons are so iconic. Few mythical creatures have touched as many imaginations as the dragon, and that's abundantly clear in the realm of anime. Dragons have always had a place in anime since the medium's very beginnings, and though they were relegated to pure fantasy in the past, even that has changed in recent years.
With so many anime incorporating dragons in such a wide array of roles, it's easy to see that anime has expanded the definition of dragon. Anime dragons can act as many things in a story; they may be powerful destroyers, wise mentors on a hero's journey, or distant godlike beings to fulfill wishes. Their role in the plot is always memorable, and some dragons even rank among the best characters in anime history.

Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Season 7, Episodes 3 & 4
Numerous subtle hints pointed to Aoyama as the traitor from early in the series. Key moments like the Usj incident and Forest Training Camp suggest Aoyama's involvement. Aoyama's actions, or lack thereof, and mysterious messages all pointed to his role as the traitor.
My Hero Academia has finally unveiled the identity of the UA traitor, first mentioned literally over a hundred episodes ago, and that traitor is none other than Yuga Aoyama, Aka "Can't Stop Twinkling." The reveal came as a shock to many fans, and some feel that the reveal wasn't well hinted at beforehand, making it feel as if it comes out of nowhere. However, were there actually clues pointing to Aoyama all along?
As it turns out, there were actually quite a few hints towards Aoyama's identity as the traitor, although all of them were very subtle moments that fans could easily have missed.

Shonen anime tackles dark themes unflinchingly, showcasing the brutality and hopeless futility of humanity's darker side. Dark moments in series like My Hero Academia and Code Geass leave a lasting impact on viewers, driving plot significance. Characters like Shigaraki, Shinji, and Kamui face gut-wrenching decisions that shape their paths in harrowing ways.
Shonen anime series are ostensibly targeted at a young male audience, but that fact may be hard to believe once one has seen how dark some of these series can get. By depicting the depravity of humanity, or hopeless futility, or a horrific mass slaughter, these series didn't shy away from the dark realities of the world, and instead embraced them fully, showing the true horror for all to see.
These dark moments can simply be the darkest in a series that's overall quite dark, or shockingly dark moments from series that aren't usually all that dark. In either case,...

Fire Emblem fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the recently-released Fire Emblem Engage. Not only is it the latest entry into the famous strategy franchise, but it’s really a return to form for Fire Emblem after the series experimented with a few different ideas. It also features a massive roster of characters voiced by some pretty notable actors.
Seriously, Engage’s voice cast is impressive. It’s one thing to boast a roster of named and notable characters quite so large, and it’s quite another to give most of those characters their own name and voice. While you may only recognize the names of a few Fire Emblem voice actors on paper, you’ll almost certainly recognize many of them the moment you hear them in-game.
So whether you can’t quite place why that name is so familiar, or you just want a little...
