A course correction after the wild genre experimentation of last year’s Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake 2 isn’t so much an evolution of 2020’s Eternal Atake as it is a watered-down rehash of it. Gone are the personality, ambition, and world-building visions that defined those previous two albums, replaced with 16 tracks’ worth of disjointed flows, bland beats, and shaky vocal performances.
In theory, a sequel like this should be a cakewalk: a snappy collection of vaguely poppy, energetic crowd-pleasers with just enough drill influence to still qualify as rap. In other words, Uzi’s bread and butter. But the minimal legwork required to get there is sorely lacking here, and Eternal Atake 2 suffers from a serious lapse in quality control.

Is Eternal Atake 2 a return to the essence of what we love about Lil Uzi Vert and “back to square one,” as the non-binary artist recently told Rs’ Jeff Ihaza? Or is it a retrenchment from the wilder impulses of their admirably experimental yet unevenly executed Pink Tape? The Philadelphia alien wants to replicate the universal acclaim that greeted Eternal Atake back in 2020, a moment when Gen Z and old heads alike finally recognized them as a generational talent. But old bugbears keep popping up, adding frisson to the “PerkySex...

Alexa PenaVega is speaking out about a new Lil Uzi Vert song that was just released on Friday (November 1).
The 36-year-old actress’ husband Carlos PenaVega‘s boy band Big Time Rush is featured on the track, “The Rush,” off of Uzi’s new album Eternal Atake 2, but Carlos was not involved whatsoever.
Alexa took to Twitter/X to update fans and share why he chose not to partake, and took issue with it being a “Big Time Rush” feature.

When I meet them at the Roc Nation offices in New York City, Lil Uzi Vert is wearing an all-white fit — a t-shirt from the cult Japanese label Skoloct, white jeans, and a white beanie with the word “Them” stitched in a gothic font. It’s two days before the release of their new album Eternal Atake 2, a sequel to their hotly anticipated album from 2020.

Chatting with the head of a prominent documentary-production company recently, I asked if hybrid filmmaking had reached its natural limit. Could it conceivably be pushed further? He posited these limitations might be behind a recent trend of documentarians pivoting to fiction: Kirsten Johnson is making a Susan Sontag biopic with Kristen Stewart; Frederick Wiseman made his first narrative feature A Couple after half a century spent in non-fiction; Roberto Minervini’s The Damned and Sandhya Suri’s Santosh both premiered at Cannes this past Spring; most recently, RaMell Ross adapted the Pulitzer-winning novel Nickel Boys. Documentarians are realizing that if fiction and non-fiction are both highly constructed, then why not work this construction openly, with the added perks of larger budgets and access to stars?

Pills, porno, Pokemon cards – The Three P’s! Mysterious Ways reminds us there’s more to faith than avoiding these sins of the flesh in director Tyler Eaton’s comedic and demonic feature debut. Anchored by strong performances and an equally strong message, the film asks viewers to place faith in each other above all, even if one of us is a devoted Bigfoot truther.
Mysterious Ways follows religious siblings Denise (Alyssa Sabo) and her brother Charlie (Brandon Raman) as they attempt to pick up the pieces of their congregation after their parents’ deaths. Children of a pastor, the duo find themselves embarking on much different paths. Denise desperately clings to the church, immersing herself in everything from worship group sleepovers to teen graphic novels featuring Christ crusaders fighting Satanists with Uzi’s. On the flip side is Charlie, slowly becoming disillusioned with his life, planning to escape his situation...

The Terminator franchise is synonymous with the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger, after all, it was he who helped make the film series as iconic as it is today. Starring as the main protagonist, his chiseled body and vascular physique were the epitome of strength and resilience, making his role even more legendary. However, it wasn’t just Schwarzenegger who had to be at the top of his game while shooting the film.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar are two of the most popular and commended rappers in the music industry, and yet, they are also two of the most controversial ones. Thanks to their long-ongoing feud and rocky relationship that just doesn’t seem to want to repair at any cost, the two have been under the spotlight every now and then through their diss tracks for each other.

They continued, “I’m trying to get them removed. All of them… I want to go corporate.”
In November, Uzi posted a selfie showing themself with makeup covering their facial tattoos.
It’s unclear if the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper will actually do away with all of their tattoos, given the long and often painful process of permanently removing ink.

What language do teenagers speak? Parents, as always, seem to be at a loss. Last month, The New York Times published a helpful guide to the slang terms growing in popularity online. Less than three months after Lil Uzi Vert dropped his new album The Pink Tape, the prolific rapper is back with a new single titled “NFL” that, despite the title and Uzi’s Eagles fandom, has nothing to do with football.

Lil Uzi Vert has scored the first No. 1 rap album on the Billboard 200 this year with Pink Tape, knocking out Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time after 15 nonconsecutive weeks atop the chart. Per Billboard, the Philly rapper’s latest effort moved 167,000 equivalent album units in the US for the week ending July 6th.
Pink Tape is the first rap album to hit No. 1 since Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains in December 2022. The 29-week gap between chart-topping rap albums is the longest since 1992 through 1993, when Ice Cube’s The Predator was followed by Cypress Hill’s Black Sunday 34 weeks later.
Uzi has now earned three No. 1 studio albums on the chart. Pink Tape was preceded by Luv Is Rage 2 in 2017 and Eternal Atake in 2020. You can catch them on a 17-city US tour this fall. Grab your tickets here.

After a relatively dry year for rap music on the charts, it seems like the genre is back on track. This is largely thanks to the release of Lil Uzi Vert’s newest studio album, “Pink Tape.” The record is headed for a number-one debut on the Billboard 200, with projected album units between 200,000 and 250,000. Thus, Uzi is pretty much this year’s first hip-hop smash and continues to be one of the most innovative and popular rappers of the past 10 years. Could this success lead to their first Grammy win?
“Pink Tape” has a lot in its favor. First, as mentioned above, it’s pretty much the biggest rap album released in 2023, and second only to Drake and 21 Savage’s 2022 release “Her Loss” for the most first-week album units throughout the Grammy eligibility period. However, “Her Loss” had mediocre reviews, and most of its tracks faded relatively fast compared...

Lil Uzi Vert’s long-awaited album, Pink Tape, arrived last week and found the eclectic Mc in decidedly new terrain. With features by everyone from Nicki Minaj to New York electro-pop duo Snow Strippers, Pink Tape is as inventive and untethered by convention as Uzi’s forward-thinking fashion sense. As such, reactions to the record have so far been mixed, with traditional rap fans lamenting Uzi’s forays into unknown genre territory and others celebrating the musician’s daring left turns. Across the 26 tracks that comprise Pink Tape, Lil Uzi Vert raps, sings, squeals, screams, and even screeches their way through a little of every genre influence that’s helped define the Philadelphia rapper’s polychrome sound since 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2. The nearly 90-minute album spans heavy metal, energetic pop-punk (“Amped”), hyperpop (“X2”), candy-coated trap (“Days Come and Go” and “Died and Came Back”), and industrial witchcore (“Fire Alarm”).
There’s something of a skeletal framework by which Uzi has sequenced this sprawling opus, one where by the time we get to the hard Jersey Club banger “Just Wanna Rock,” it feels like a natural progression of the album’s wide-ranging vision rather than a leftfield grab for attention. There’s an almost gleefully breathless irreverence to the way Uzi picks up and immediately drops ideas, dipping in and out of different melodic pockets or styles at a moment’s notice.

Lil Uzi Vert is one of the most ambitious rappers of their generation, a true-blue astral traveler who sees the form’s traditions as a matrix to warp in unexpected ways. Their goal is the sort of mental and emotional liberation achievable only through absolute stimulation: the most colors, the biggest sounds, the hardest raps conceivable. Their first two LPs, 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2 and 2020’s Eternal Atake, showed remarkable progress in this aim. They pushed and pulled various strands of contemporary hip-hop — blown-out Soundcloud beats, cavernous psychedelia, flows from...

After years of abandoned release dates, Lil Uzi Vert’s new album Pink Tape has finally arrived.

The NYC iteration of the festival (which started in Miami) began in 2019, setting up shop at Citi Field in Queens. Though 2020 was skipped because of the pandemic, Rolling Loud New York returned in 2021 and 2022.
Despite calling off this year’s festival, organizers seemed hopeful that Rolling Loud New York would return at some point, writing: “But Don’t worry, this isn’t ‘Goodbye.

During a call with analysts today, executives from Nexstar Media Group revealed how they hope to turn the CW into more of a cost-conscious broadcast network that appeals to a broader audience. Turns out the CW is a lot closer to that goal than anyone might have imagined.
The reality, according to Nexstar President and COO Tom Carter, is that the average CW viewer is 58 years old — which he thinks is why the broadcast network is also the lowest-rated among all five. Since the CW is home to such teen faves as Riverdale, All American and The Flash, news of its 50-something appeal elicited more than a few laughs online.
“I would have laughed if the average age was 40,” wrote Mike Royce, the former EP on One Day at a Time, on Twitter. “58 is true comic genius.”

Pharrell’s Something in the Water music festival returned for the second time ever this weekend, bringing three days of music to Washington, D.C. for Juneteenth weekend.
