Raween Kanishka is Sri Lankan singer, actor, presenter, dancer and a dubbing artist. He is an award-winning multitalented artist from young generation.
Raween Kanishka is a recipient of the Most Popular Teledrama Actor in Raigam Tele'es, Sumathi Awards, 3CS Tele Film Festival Australia and SLIM - Nielson / SLIM Kantar People's Awards 7 times and got nominated as the Best Singer in State Music Awards in 2017.
Raween Kanishka become a well-known figure in the country after he entered the industry as a singer after winning the trophy for the first runner up in the 4th Season of one of the most popular singing reality shows in Sri Lanka; Derana Dream Star. After that Raween Kanishka won 2 more trophies for winning the first place in two more reality shows; Derana Star City Season 1 and Derana Star City Season 2.
In 2017 Raween made his debut as an actor in the award-winning teledrama Deweni Inima and he played the main role of the drama as Anuhas Fernando. He won back to back popular awards as an actor from his first teledrama itself. Just like his first teledrama his second teledrama also become a super hit. His second teledrama Diyani is the first ever weekend teledrama in Sri Lanka that an episode become Trending 1. Furthermore he has played the main role in 4 more successful web dramas. Kiss Season 1, Kiss Season 2, We Season 1 and We Season 2. Also he has played the main role in Ima.
He made his film debut in 2023 with the character of Hirimala which is one of the main characters in Ksheera Sagaraya Kalabina movie directed by the veteran director Professor Sunil Ariyaratne.
Raween Kanishka started his presenting journey as a radio presenter. Then he presented several tv programmes, reality shows, award shows, musical shows in Sri Lanka as well as abroad. He is currently the main presenter of the reality show he entered the industry; Derana Dream Star for the 3rd consecutive season and is a presenter of Raigam Tele'es where he won awards for popular actor.
