Sunny Fong may not have had the worst design on “Project Runway All Stars” for the “Top of the Class” challenge, but the judges sent him home anyway for disregarding the assignment. Our readers aren’t sure that was the right call, though. Many of them thought Irina Shabayeva should have been sent packing. Scroll down for our complete poll results at the bottom of this post.
The challenge was for the contestants to design a look for a high-class graduation party using two colors. Fong was given yellow and blue, but the dress he made was entirely yellow, and his only nod to blue was a brooch lazily pinned to the back. I for one thought the judges were right to eliminate him, and so did 42% of our respondents. If he had done the bare minimum and added a blue belt or sash or hem — anything! — he would have been safe.

You know that scene in Cinderella where the film’s leading lady stands helplessly as her jealous stepsisters rip her dress to shreds? That’s pretty much what goes down on Wednesday’s Project Runway All Stars, subbing designer Irina Shabayeva in for the Disney princess.
In TVLine’s exclusive sneak of the episode (Lifetime, 9/8c), the judges pick apart Irina’s latest design, with Georgina Chapman criticizing it for looking cheap and being too short. Isaac Mizrahi even compares it to a quinceañera dress.

She may be Hollywood royalty thanks to her famous grandfather, but Kiera Chaplin isn’t afraid to get a little extreme.
The 34-year-old granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin is participating in the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc — an off-roading rally in the Moroccan desert that has the women-only participants rely on old-school navigation techniques to get through a series of obstacles and checkpoints every day. After two weeks, the team who completes the race with the fastest time and the least number of miles wins the rally — but Chaplin isn’t thinking that far ahead.

The rebranding of sulky-drawers Murray got off to an unpromising start, while a timely reminder of workhouse inhumanities made powerful viewing

Andy Murray - The Man Behind the Racquet seemed to be part of the ongoing drive to reframe Murray, from number two-seeded, Us Open-winning, sulky-drawers face-ache, to someone, well, nicer, or at least more marketable.
Presented by Sue Barker in the wistful preoccupied way of a woman who finds it hard to forget how fine Jimmy Connors once looked in his tight white shorts, it wasn't entirely unconvincing. Though I'm still not persuaded that crying because you've lost a Wimbledon final means you're any "nicer" than you were before you became publicly emotionally incontinent. Nor am I convinced that...

Mumbai, Mar 17: ‘Chaurahen’, the low- budget film, directed by Rajshree Ojha in 2007 is finally seeing the light of the day after 5 years of lying in the cans without a distributor for releasing it.
Kiera Chaplin, Grand- daughter of the world- renowned comedian and director Charlie Chaplin, plays a character of a foreigner in the film and is only too delighted about the film hitting the theaters. Kiera, a model turned actor, met Ojha at the Student Academy Awards where Ojha’s film ‘Moment’ won a prize. It was there Ojha narrated the film’s story to her and Kiera agreed pronto to be a part of the film.

After directing a film that is as commercial and Bollywood as they get, Rajshree Ojha returns to the screen with her film Chaurahen, and this time commercial is anything but what the film looks like. Originally completed in 2007, Chaurahen went on to screen at 11 international film festivals before securing theatrical distribution in India by PVR Cinema and global online distribution by Mela.
Chaurahen (Crossroads), a film directed by Rajshree Ojha, who previously directed Aisha, in addition to two other popular specialty projects, boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Soha Ali Khan, Victor Banerjee, veteran Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman, and Kiera Chaplin, granddaughter of the silent film superstar Charlie Chaplin. The film is an adaptation of short stories by celebrated author Nirmal Verma. Ojha describes the three vignettes that comprise Chaurahen as “snippets of collected photographs, bringing together similar disconnected people trying to find their path.”

Director: Rajshree Ojha, Writers: Rajshree Ojha, Anuvab Pal (based on the stories of Nirmal Verma), Actors: Victor Banerjee, Roopa Ganguly, Soha Ali Khan, Ankur Khanna, Kiera Chaplin etc.
There aren’t many literary adaptations in Indian cinema these days. So an effort to render Nirmal Verma’s stories on celluloid is a welcome endeavor. However, it is also a tad too ambitious. The stories that are simple yet delve into the complexities of human relationships may appear visually-oriented, but to hold them together cinematically via an engaging narrative demands much more than an adept ensemble cast. This is where Chaurahen disappoints: it limits itself to a high-flown, philosophical montage of scenes where it is difficult to identify with or feel for any of the characters. Because they spent most of their time philosophizing about life instead of behaving like mere mortals with motives. Not to mention, the fact that they...

Ferrari's new 458 Italia sports car. From PatrickMcMullan.com. On Wednesday night at New York’s Ferrari showroom on Park Avenue, the centerpiece of the party celebrating the newly revamped corporate space was not the boldface guest list, but instead a white model of Ferrari’s new 458 Italia sports car, with a starting price north of $225,000. Scrubs star Zach Braff, The City star Olivia Palermo and boyfriend Johannes Huebl (who made their appearance particularly short and sweet, doing a once-around-and-out in about 10 minutes), model Kiera Chaplin, and actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux, were among those milling about the venue, paying homage to the luxury-car purveyor. Many of the guests, who looked particularly dressy for an early-evening affair, were current Ferrari owners. While they perused the memorabilia and collector’s items that lined the walls, and, most important, checked out other attendees’ recently released 4G iPhones, they also swapped joyride stories. Anyway, at the mention of Aamir Khan, my Rapchik Rajni claims to have some khabar about him from Berlin. Yeah, the actor was there for a charity dinner over the weekend, where jaane-maane celebrities from Hollywood too were present. But I’m told that apna Aamir bonded most with Kiera Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin’s grand-daughter and a well-known Irish actress) and Sean Hepburn Ferrer (Audrey Hepburn’s son). I’m also informed that Sean had organised a charity screening of Taare Zameen Par for dyslexic children a couple of years ago, so it was a renunion of sorts for him and Khan. That’s not all. ...

William Tell epic gets green light
BERLIN -- Fred Caruso and D. Constantine Conte have given the green light to a $60 million epic based on the legend of Swiss freedom fighter and apple-shooting bowman William Tell.
Ian Quinn, a veteran stunt coordinator, will make his directorial debut with "The Adventures of William Tell", which Caruso and Conte will bankroll through equity financing and their joint pan-European film fund. Cornelius Schrengle will write the script, based on the 19th century play by Friedrich von Schiller.
According to the legend, Tell was forced to shoot an apple off his son's head to win his freedom from Austrian occupiers. The event made him a hero to Swiss freedom fighters, who joined him in a revolt against the Austrian Empire.
Caruso and Conte said they plan to shoot "Tell" on location in Switzerland with a 2010 release target. Swiss-born actress Kiera Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, will star as Tell's wife.
