Born Jennifer Russell in San Francisco, CA, Ms Fer first got her start in television.She appeared as a live contestant on the local children's game show, "Go for It" mentored by athlete Bo Jackson at the tender age of thirteen. At the age of seventeen she wrote a stage play which was chosen to be performed by professional actors in front of a live audience, then again at nineteen she performed and starred in a stage play titled "What If The Streets Can Speak" Part 2 throughout the Bay Area. Within the same year her professional music career started in the bay area writing and recording for various local artist.
After moving to the south in the early 2000s, she started her own project along working with other artists. Ms Fer began honing her craft in rapping by proving featured vocals for several projects, which finally paid off in 2016 when she released her single "Go Harder" independently. Her next single, "Tha DJ," followed late 2016, which is on heavy rotation on FM radio in Maryland and the Bahamas.
In 2015, Ms Fer was the opening act at Atlanta's International Bronner Brothers Beauty Show. Two years later, was performed as the opening act at KMEL's annual Summer Jam concert. Africa was lucky enough to catch her performance when she performed at various venues in Zanzibar, Tanzania in 2019, which led her to becoming the "Goodwill Ambassador" for The Africa Health Organization.
Nowadays, Ms Fer can be seen on television once again acting in such shows as "The Resident," and the Fox hit series, "Star," as well as being a host and special guest on various podcasts and online radio.
