Get ready for more thrilling mysteries, intrigue, and nail-biting drama in Silo Season 2. Created by Graham Yost, the Apple TV+ dystopian sci-fi mystery thriller drama series is based on the Silo novel trilogy by Hugh Howey.

Season 2 of Silo continues the story of Juliette Nichols after she goes out of the Silo and doesn’t die, prompting the people in the Silo to rebel against the Silo leaders while Juliette goes on a deeper dive into the mystery of how and why the Silo was built.

Graham Yost doesn’t want you to read the Silo book series — not yet, at least.

“I usually try and say [that] sitting right next to [author] Hugh Howey,” the Silo showrunner jokes from his office in Carmel, California. “Buy copies of the book, but don’t read them yet.”

Season two of Apple TV’s Silo premiered on Friday, with episodes rolling out weekly until the Jan. 17, 2025 finale. Yost has made no secret of his departure from the source material, pulling whole episodes out of single sentences in Wool, Howey’s first of three books in the Silo series. Howey is an executive producer on the show, and by all accounts, is thoroughly pleased with Yost’s work.

We warn you that this is not exactly Disney, and the series must be taken with the perspective of having all the time in the world: it does not stand out for its animation nor the characters come “alive” thanks to the computer, it is more a series that aims to amuse and, mixing youth with new-fangled superheroes, give us entertainment in small pills of twenty minutes.
