Bryan Huynh is an award-winning filmmaker for his written & produced trilogies: TODAY (Sight Unseen) 2018, TOMORROW NEVER CAME 2019, and YESTERDAY NEVER ENDED 2021. The idea of the trilogies is based on Mother Teresa's quote "today, tomorrow, and yesterday". Each story comes from different source or idea that Bryan has had since 1988.
TODAY's (Sight Unseen) idea came from his love for Reese Witherspoon's 1994 movie "The Man in the Moon". TOMORROW's story idea was based on a real-life story from his college day (in 1988) at the end of a semester where the news of a young Asian man's life had ended. YESTERDAY's story happened when Bryan read an on-line article about a young boy who was in reincarnation from a terrible incident. Also, it was Bryan's love for the 2001's Sundance favorite "Memento".
In 2023 Bryan completed a short film I DRUM TO A DIFFERENT PUZZLE, a story of an autistic teenager girl who is searching for the true meaning of love. The film has received many recognitions on the festival circuits such as: Digital Griffix Film Awards (Best Narrative Short Film), New Jersey Film Awards (Best Inspirational Short, Best Ensemble, and Best Female Filmmaker); Sacramento Independent Film Festival (Best Producer, Best Female Director, and Best Acting Ensemble); East Coast Movie Awards (Best Actress in Drama); Wine Women Film Festival (Finalist for Best Director: Short Film); Florida Shorts (Best Producer); Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (Best Movie Director Short Film); New Jersey International Short Festival (Best Producer); Mediterranean Film Festival Cannes Athens Milan (Best Family Short Film); and Cannes Independent Shorts (Best Narrative Short).
The "I DRUM ..." screenplay has also received several awards from Wine Women Film Festival (Best Short Screenplay); California International Short Festival (Best Short Script); Vail Film Festival 2023 (Finalist as 1 of 14); Golden Nugget International Film Festival (UK) (Nominee); and Grande Stories Screenplay Competition (Finalist).
Currently (as we speak) he has 4 short scripts out there on the festival circuits: IT'S THE SAME, EMBRACING CHANGE, DON'T BREAK ANY HEARTS, and WORDS DON'T COME EASY. In 2024 each script has received awards at: London Indie Film Festival, London Movie Awards, Hollywood Int. Golden Age, New Jersey Film Awards, Las Vegas International Film & Screenwriting Festival (LVIFSF), to name a few (too many to list here). His feature script THE WEEK THAT WASN'T, a "finalist" at LVIFSF in 2022.
