Known for his passion and hard work in the industry with immaculate knowledge and immense experience, Punit after his Bachelors in Commerce, went on to assist his father in business rather than pursuing a MBA like all his other classmates.

Punit Balan is a multi-faceted personality as an entrepreneur, filmmaker, social worker, sports enthusiast. He is the trustee and Festival head of Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati trust, Pune. He is the owner of various sports teams like Pune Jaguars (Tennis), Mumbai Khiladis (Kho Kho), Maharashtra Iron Man (Handball), Premier Badminton, Table Tennis. He has given financial support to talented and needy players in various sports from different parts of India.
Punit Balan established several schools in Kashmir with the help of the Army and also unveiled a hundred and fifty feet high tricolor in Kashmir with the help of Indian Army.
He has supported Ganesh Mandals when finances of mandals had collapsed after Covid.
He helped many people during covid.
He has renovated Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Bhavan, a historical building with revolutionary history, in order to preserve the legacy of the revolutionaries.
Through the Indrani Balan Foundation schools have been set up in rural areas and this will help the students in the villages to get good quality education.
Through the Indrani Balan Foundation, he has donated an ambulance so that the patients of the village could get timely treatment in the hospital.
He announced to celebrate Ganapati Utsav at Lal Chowk in Kashmir along with seven Ganesh Mandals from Pune.
