Curtis Harrison has been involved in the entertainment industry for
most of his life. Throughout his years of school he was always around
anything to do with theatre and television. After high school he went
to Niagara College for a semester and majored in science but it was not
for him. He decided to pursue a life dedicated to the entertainment
industry after he arrived home from traveling for a year. During that
year he went to the Cayman Isles to work as a glassier installing glass
and doing odd construction jobs. While he was living on the Island he
discovered the CDS (Cayman Drama Society) but because he was too busy
working, instead of performing he decided to work backstage on a
production that they were mounting. After leaving the Island he would
travel a bit more and then return to Canada to settle down and start
working on his education and also his acting career. He traveled to
Cuba, Vermont, New York and across Canada to British Columbia and then
moved here to Toronto to apply to school. He was accepted into George
Brown, Ryerson, York, and Humber's acting programs. However, during
that time he was offered a part in a touring show for 5 months, so
going on a gut feeling he took the job. Curtis has been in Toronto ever
since; he is an award-winning actor who has countless theatre and film
credits to his name. During that time he has acted in numerous
productions as well as working behind the scenes on just as many.
Involvement with Chalmers and Dora Mavor Moore award-winning
productions have helped educate Curtis in all of the elements involved
with a successful production. Recently Curtis has just returned from
New York after working with a theatre company called the Michael Group.
Curtis is an actor, writer and producer and has been involved in all
facets of production. Throughout working on various jobs he has learned
much about the industry and is confident is his decisions. He has been
writing for the past few years trying to get some interesting Canadian
content together for a successful television series.
