Tyrel Hunt is an award-winning filmmaker, and novelist from Queens, New York. He wrote, edited, and directed his first film "April Again", winning Best of the Fest at The People's Film Festival and Best Feature Film Audience Award at the Baltimore International Black Film Festival. His second feature film "The Sound of Southside" (Adapted from his novel of the same name) won best feature film at The Hip Hop Film Festival.
His films have screened at The Schomburg Center, Maysles Documentary Center, Magic Johnson Theater, and many other locations throughout the country.
