Biography

He loved working for director John Ford in How Green Was My Valley (1941) as he got to be in three scenes. He felt proud for getting a part in the film no matter how small the part turned out to be.

He admired Basil Rathbone and he tried to get small parts in movies that he was starring in. He used to speak about him to his final day and used to say that Basil Rathbone was a great gentleman and a professional that was taking his work very seriously.
