Alex Reid joined his Wildboyz co-stars on This Morning to offer a first-look at the upcoming theatre show. Announced last year, the adult comedy sees Reid, ex-Coronation Street actor Danny Young, former Hollyoaks star Marcus Patrick and Big Brother's Dale Howard perform as a group of strippers. Offering a preview of what ticket-holders can expect when the tour kicks off at Stevenage's Gordon Craig Theatre on April 24, the foursome performed a brief routine to Duran Duran's 'The Wild Boys', which saw them remove their tops. Alex Reid has said that he is looking forward to showing off his "acting skills" in new adult comedy Wildboyz. The theatre production will tour the UK starring Reid, ex-Coronation Street actor Danny Young, Big Brother's Dale Howard and former Hollyoaks star Marcus Patrick, as four celebrity friends who end up performing as a popular male strip group, the Wildboyz. Alex Reid has said that Chantelle Houghton will give him front-row support when he tours the country in Wildboyz. Speaking to Digital Spy at the launch of the new adult comedy, Reid said that he had not spoken to his new fiancée extensively about their plans for next year. The cage fighter, who proposed to Houghton on live TV earlier this month, will join fellow cast members Danny Young, Marcus Patrick and Dale Howard when the new production performs 18 dates across the UK from April 2012. "We've not really talked about it that much. I'm going to sneak her in the dressing room I think, I need a chief fluffer! We'll find her a job somewhere," he joked, adding that Houghton would "100%" be in the front row to watch him. Discussing his plans to be "stupendously fit" for the tour, Reid revealed (more)...

Danny Young has admitted that taking on a role in new touring production Wildboyz is "unbelievably daunting". The former Coronation Street actor joins Alex Reid, Dale Howard and Marcus Patrick in the show, which has been described as 'Benidorm meets The Full Monty'. With the foursome playing exaggerated versions of themselves, Young told Digital Spy that the production will mock the current celebrity culture. "You get so many people now who go on Celebrity Coach Trip and they're suddenly a celebrity, and you think, 'f**king hell'. I've been working since I was 14. And then you've got these people coming out of certain shows taking jobs," he said. "I like that it's taking the p*ss out of yourselves. You can't take the play too serious. If you take it (more)...

Alex Reid and Big Brother's Dale Howard are to take part in a UK theatre tour called Wildboyz. The reality TV stars will be joined by Coronation Street's Danny Young and Hollyoaks actor Marcus Patrick for the Chip 'n' Dale-style play. The plot of the show revolves around the four men hoping to attend a friend's bachelor party in Bali, only to be stranded at a Spanish hotel due to a volcanic ash cloud. The four are then approached to fill in for the real Wildboyz strip group, who are unable to reach a hen party at the hotel. Reid said: "Well I will be living in the gym from now until we hit the road, I can't wait (more)...

Ex-Hollyoaks actor Marcus Patrick triumphed in the 71 Degrees North final last night. Patrick beat title favourite Gavin Henson in a final showdown on the ITV1 reality show, which involved racing with snow-dogs, a snow run and a leopard crawl rope crossing 100ft above the Arctic Ocean. The former soap star managed to upset the odds and triumph over the Welsh rugby star after gaining an early advantage in the race with the snow-dogs. After lighting the final bonfire, Patrick screamed and was greeted with a hug and a bottle of champagne by host Kate Thornton. Speaking afterwards, he said: "I didn't think I had it in me. My legs were gone. My arms couldn't do any more on the rope... The underdog has got it! "I can't believe I (more)...

Joe Absolom was booted off 71 Degrees North last night at the semi-final stage of the reality show. The TV actor was given the chop by his rivals Gavin Henson and Susie Amy, who both voted for him at the final elimination. Amy and Marcus Patrick only picked up one vote each and will join Henson, who won this week's immunity challenge, in the three-way final next week. Absolom was generally regarded as the biggest threat to rugby star Henson and the Welsh sportsman admitted that his vote was tactical rather than based on talent. Henson revealed: "I voted for Joe because he was the strongest one here I think. It's given me an easier ride in the final." Footballers' Wives actress Amy commented: "I voted for Joe tonight because he's had more ups and downs than everyone else and I doubt he wants to be here." Speaking (more)...

Michelle Mone has become the fourth celebrity to be voted off 71 Degrees North. The Ultimo lingerie boss picked up four votes in this week's elimination, while Gavin Henson, Joe Absolom and Marcus Patrick collected one vote each. After the result was announced, Mone said: "I'm always going to be the outsider because everyone [here] is an actor or TV presenter, and Gavin's obviously sport, but I'm absolutely delighted that I've managed to make it halfway. I'm over the moon and I'm looking forward to seeing my family." Andrew Castle complimented Mone on her progression during the competition, while Patrick said that his decision to vote her out was based "on physicality, not personality". This week's challenge saw the teams spend a night in tents attached to adjacent vertical cliff faces, before a member from each (more)...

Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq has become the second celebrity voted off 71 Degrees North. Huq was in the winning team in the second challenge alongside Joe Absolom, Marcus Patrick, Gavin Henson and Michelle Mone, but she was still picked for the chop by her fellow contestants in the final showdown. Absolom was immune for elimination after he won this week's Immunity Challenge, which involved celebrities using ice picks to climb up a frozen waterfall in the quickest time possible. Huq was the only contestant not to reach the top of the waterfall. The Xtra Factor host picked up six votes in the final showdown after annoying some members of the camp with her lack of effort. Other celebrities (more)...

Susie Amy has said that she adores fellow 71 Degrees North contestant Andrew Castle. The ex-Footballers' Wives actress said that she bonded well with the other stars on the ITV1 reality show. Amy told Metro: "I'd worked with Marcus Patrick before so he was a familiar face, Gavin Henson was the strongest so everyone wanted to be on his team and I adore Andrew Castle. "I thought of him as a wholesome family man but he's got the most fantastic dirty sense of humour. Even when he was being negative he brought the mood up (more)...

Athlete Dean Macey and Scrapheap Challenge's Dick Strawbridge won their Celebrity MasterChef heat last night. The duo impressed judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode and edged out fellow contestants Marcus Patrick, singer Kym Mazelle and TV presenter Jennie Bond. In the final challenge, Macey served up scallops on pea puree with smokey bacon for starter, with a main course of steak and chunky chips, alongside a poached egg and cherry tomatoes. Praising the main course, Torode said: "Very nice rare steak. Beefy, almost sweet. A sticky egg on top. Very, very good chips. Seasoned well. Very good!" Meanwhile, Strawbridge cooked kidneys on a celeriac rosti with cream vermouth sauce, followed (more)...
