Ahead of its Cinequest premiere this weekend, experience the isolation of a New Hampshire winter with the teaser trailer for Voices Carry.
The indie thriller marks the feature debut of writers-directors Abby Brenker & Ellyn Vander Wyden.
Gia Crovatin (“Evil”), Jeff Ayars, Jeremy Holm (“Mr. Robot”), and Geraldine Singer (“Mayfair Witches”) star.
Looking for a new beginning, Sam and Jack leave Boston and move into Sam’s childhood home on a picturesque lake in New Hampshire. Despite the natural beauty and small-town charm, the couple struggles to adjust. Sam wrestles with her stagnant career and is forced to confront the traumatic events of her past.
Their uneasy transition becomes even more unsettling when Henry, a peculiar lifelong local and neighbor, raises suspicion. When Sam discovers a necklace she believes belonged to her late mother and an antique diary, she begins to suspect that the spirit of an ancestor is trying to reach her.

Anne Rice's Immortal Universe is showing no signs of slowing down, with new seasons of both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire on the way. Tongayi Chirisa, who stars in the former as Talamasca agent Ciprien Grieve, recently teased that a crossover between the two series could be in the works.
Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Mayfair Witches' Season 2 premiere on Jan. 5, Chirisa noted how it would not be unusual for his character to encounter other supernatural beings due to his work with the secret society, Talamasca. "I think for Cip, it's not uncommon to encounter the supernatural," he explained. "I think with what's happening in Season 2, Cip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until certain things start to happen that will finally give him access to some of the deeper secrets of the Talamasca."

The Sci-Fi genre consists of some of the most inventive and life-changing films because by the very definition of the word the creators have to invent a fictional future or technology and while some of the films in this genre give us spectacle others give us a story that makes us think about the future and how our world is changing for better or for worse. So, today we thought of listing the best new sci-fi films you can watch at home right now and in this list, we didn’t include any film released before 2023.

Director Brian Duffield isn't a big fan of sequels, but he may be open to making a follow-up to the sci-fi thriller No One Will Save You if it becomes a big success. While he has no plans for a sequel yet, Duffield mentioned that he could consider returning to the world of the film in a few years' time if there is enough demand from viewers. Despite his reservations about sequels, Duffield stated that he is open to the idea of continuing the story and believes that it wouldn't feel much different from his previous projects in terms of storytelling and directing.

No One Will Save You features a talented cast that delivers memorable performances, adding depth to the movie's captivating narrative. The lack of dialogue in the film's storyline is overcome by the brilliant performances of the cast, especially the lead, Kaitlyn Dever. The supporting cast, including Zack Duhame, Elizabeth Kaluev, Evangeline Rose, Dari Lynn Griffin, Lauren L. Murray, Dane Rhodes, and Geraldine Singer, also contribute to making the movie scarier and emotionally resonant.

If A Quiet Place had an on-screen cousin, it would be No One Will Save You. Hulu’s riveting new alien invasion drama contains hardly any dialogue, which amps up the chilling suspense and allows the film to rest on the shoulders of Kaitlyn Dever. The Booksmart and Ticket to Paradise star turns in a powerful performance here as Brynn Adams, a young woman whose tortuous past comes back to haunt her when a mysterious alien invades her home.
Written and directed by Brian Duffield (writer of Cocaine Bear and much more), this film has the makings of a cult following. An extraterrestrial invasion, aliens light-beaming up humans to a spaceship, feverish run-for-your-life sequences, and the creepiest kind of aliens you’ll come across on screen and want to keep watching. The film also stars Dane Rhodes, Lauren L. Murray, Geraldine Singer, and Elizabeth Kaluev, but this is Dever’s baby from beginning to end.

Spoiler Alert: The following review contains spoilers.
Got trauma? A global alien invasion is all it takes for emotionally scarred Brynn (Kaitlyn Dever) to sort through her issues in “No One Will Save You,” an extraterrestrial creature feature cut from the same cloth as M. Night Shyamalan’s “Signs,” where the jump scares are secondary to an earnest (but far less effective) portrait of coping with guilt and grief.
Building on the novelty value of 2020 debut “Spontaneous” (in which a bunch of teenagers inexplicably start to pop like pimples), director Brian Duffield sets multiple creative challenges for himself and mostly succeeds — well enough to attract eyeballs to this buzz-worthy Hulu release, at least. Amusingly enough, one of the things liable to get people talking is Duffield’s decision to construct the film with hardly any dialogue.
Brynn’s a loner, living in a house that looks like it was decorated by a 12-year-old girl.

Anne Rice is known for her vampires. Her 1976 novel Interview with the Vampire is considered a seminal text on the undead world thanks in large part to a progressive 1994 adaptation starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. What many casual fans may not know is that Rice is also well-versed in the world of witchcraft. Published in 1990, her novel The Witching Hour is the first of a trilogy following the Mayfair Witches, a powerful family of New Orleans spellcasters.
After acquiring the rights to Rice’s entire catalog in 2020, AMC released an ambitious reimagining of her most famous text. Though it flew mostly under the radar, Interview With the Vampire premiered to positive reviews and has been praised for its exploration of race and sexuality while drawing viewers in with a campy tone. The network’s followup series, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches stars Alexandra Daddario as a lost Mayfair daughter...

If, as Tolstoy put it, happy families are all alike, that’s probably because they’re opaque to the rest of us, for whom friction and rifts are as much a part of the kindred experience as love. Jesse, the hyper-observant only child at the center of Ricky D’Ambrose’s The Cathedral, takes in all the specifics of his unhappy family — not just his parents’ divorce when he’s 10, not just his father’s ongoing struggles, financial and otherwise, but the awkward silences and generational baggage, the rite-of-passage celebrations straining toward grace. The writer-director-editor’s microbudgeted sophomore film, now streaming on Mubi, juxtaposes remembered interactions and still-life shots with a deliberate, elliptical precision, the minor-key notes building to a chord that resounds with the ache of lost time and unexpressed emotions.
