Born in Belfast in 1983, Dave studied philosophy at Cambridge, where he began writing drama. He wrote and directed plays, working with independent theatre companies in London and around the UK before sidling into the film business some time around 2016, after writing his first feature screenplay, Passing Through, which was shot in 2019 and began its festival run in 2022.
