It may not be official at this point, but an eagle-eyed 90 Day Fiance fan spotted several couples from the franchise filming at an Arizona resort.

TLC confirmed Thursday that the rumors are true:

90 Day: The Last Resort is real.

According to the cabler, the series focuses on five couples who have "reached their breaking points."

"In a final attempt to salvage their relationships, each couple will participate in a couples retreat to determine whether or not they can heal old wounds," the promotional material states. 

"Alongside a team of professionals, they'll actively navigate issues with trust, sex, jealousy, anger, and intimacy."

"Explosive group therapies, intense couples' sessions, past life regressions, unique on-and-off-resort activities, and so much more ensue," TLC warns, adding:

"At the end of the retreat, each couple must decide if they will stay together or move on."

In a word? Whoa.

The 90 Day Fiancé franchise has become a TLC mega-hit. Many of the featured couples are really in it for love. And several successful marriages appear in the series, such as Loren and Alexei Brovarnik, Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet, and fan favorites David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan.

90 Day: The Single Life Season 1 Episode 1 re-introduced us to many of the franchise's most popular stars as they come to terms with the single life after the breakdown of the relationships they were in when they first joined the show.

The result was a little bit more disappointing than I anticipated. On paper, this show sounds like something to break away from the formula of the franchise, but it actually seems like a watered-down take on the original concept.

Instead of dating abroad, the singles are dating within the U.S., which probably allows the show to remain in constant production.

Many of the other shows have been hindered by the pandemic, so this appears to be a way to keep production running smoothly.

A new spinoff was officially announced over the weekend during a new episode of 90 Day Bares All, and it certainly sounds like one of the more unique takes on the franchise.

The series will follow six cast members from the megahit franchise who found and lost love on the series.

It chronicles their lives as they reenter the dating scene, and in the process, put issues from past relationships to bed.
