Karma’s a bitch… and she loves a genre flick.
M. Night Shyamalan just put the spotlight back on viral terror with “Trap,” an escape room horror about a killer attempting to outmaneuver the cops at a concert packed with iPhones. In fewer theaters this weekend (but streaming too!) is director Marcus Dunstan’s “#Amfad: All My Friends Are Dead.” That’s another internet horror movie featuring a major pop music event — only here the murderer and their victims never make it inside the venue.
Starring ex-Nickelodeon favorite Jade Pettyjohn and none other than JoJo Siwa herself, “#Amfad” sees its masked villain ensnare a van full of wannabe internet celebs in a “Seven”-esque killing spree at a remote Airbnb. Both former kid-stars-turned-social-media-heavyweights, Pettyjohn and Siwa worked together years ago when the “Dance Moms” legend guest-starred with series regular Pettyjohn on “School of Rock.”

Chicago – Patrick McDonald of HollywoodChicago.com audio film review for “Find Me Falling,” featuring Harry Connick Jr. as a depressed rock star and the Greek island country he escapes to go back to his past to help his present. Streaming on Netflix beginning on July 19th.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
Harry Connick Jr. is John Allman, a rock star in this universe, whose last album is a bust, so he escapes to the Greek island country of Cyprus, where he buys a cliffside beach home that has a secret … it’s a spot where people like to jump to their deaths. Strangely, that’s not the main story. It seems that John has chosen this locale because he knows Sia (Agni Scott) lives there. They are old lovers from John’s wild days, and he wants to reconnect. There are a lot of obstacles though, including a singer at a local taverna named...

Find Me Falling tells a story we’ve seen many times before. Harry Connick Jr. stars as John Allman, a washed-up rocker who moves to Cyprus seeking solitude after his music career fizzles. But just like in countless romantic comedies, John can’t escape connecting with others.
He’s introduced to the scenic island and its people through a chance meeting with an old flame, Dr. Sia, played by Agni Scott. Their rekindled romance serves as the predictable plot engine, navigating well-worn arcs of will-they-or-won’t-they that are easy to map from the start.
While the Mediterranean backdrops are undeniably gorgeous, the familiarity of John’s journey makes it difficult to fall deeply invested in his tale of love and self-discovery on all too familiar shores.
Growing Old and Finding Yourself
After experiencing failure in his music career, aging rock star John Allman leaves America behind and travels to the beautiful island country of Cyprus.

If the only vacation you get to take this year is watching Netflix, you could do worse than the sweet and forgettable Harry Connick Jr romantic comedy Find Me Falling. This is a standard but grown-up rom-com confection that takes place entirely on the Mediterranean Island of Cyprus in one of those quaint little villages with colorful locals who hand out lots of love advice. The seaside location is delicious and makes this 92-minute soufflé go down easy. You may not find yourself falling hard for this, but it is worth the time, especially for Connick connoisseurs. No doubt it will be good for the Cyprus tourist bureau.
Connick plays a fading rock star, John Allman, who has moved to the island to escape his life and his past celebrity, but instead runs smack into it when he reconnects with an old flame, the love of his life whom he...

At one point, Saw VI director Kevin Greutert was on board to direct a slasher movie called All My Friends Are Dead… but then Greutert got busy working on Saw X and ended up handing the helm over to Marcus Dunstan – the director of The Collector and co-writer of Saw VI. All My Friends Are Dead went into production a year ago with Dunstan at the helm, and now it’s aiming for an August 2nd theatrical, digital, and VOD release. With that date just a couple months away, a clip from the film (featuring JoJo Siwa) has made its way online and can be seen in the embed above.

This feature debut from American director Richie Adams is firmly in the tradition of the likes of Catherine Cookson and Barbara Taylor-Bradford, although the novel source material here was written by a man, John Mackay, which unfortunately shows in its inability to truly get under the skin of its heroine. It has the well-made but familiar feel of a Sunday evening drama on ITV or the Beeb - a slot that it could well find itself occupying at some time in the future, especially after taking home the Audience Award after its Eiff world premiere.
Set in the run up to the First World War on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis, the story takes place in the tiny coastal village of Garenin. It is here that Kirsty Macleod (Hermione Corfield) lives on a croft with her mother (Morvern Christie) and sister Annie (Ali Fumiko Whitney) since the death of her.
