Darren Huang is a Canadian film composer based in Los Angeles. He holds a Master of Music in Contemporary Media and Film Composition at the Eastman School of Music. A former studio intern at Hans Zimmer's production company and mentee of Jeff Beal (House of Cards), Darren has received high praise from acclaimed film composers including Harry Gregson-Williams.
Recently, he was selected to participate in the prestigious ASCAP/Columbia Scoring Workshop. His composition "Threnody for the Victims of COVID-19" was featured as part of the virtual event held by UN Chamber Music Society on 30 June 2021.
Darren also published his first novel titled "The Impermanent Light" in April 2021 in which he incorporates musical concepts and buddhist ideologies while exploring the self-transformative experience of living in a foreign country.
