Actress Willa Fitzgerald has been cast in Wash Me In The River, the Randall Emmett-directed action thriller which is shooting in Georgia and Puerto Rico. Fitzgerald joins previously announced stars Robert De Niro, John Malkovich, and Jack Huston.

Written by Adam Taylor Barker, the pic centers on a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealers responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his fiance’s death.

Fitzgerald, who was recently seen starring in John Crowley’s The Goldfinch and the USA series Dare Me, will play Ruby Red. She’s a radiant young woman with a troubled past who finally gets clean in hopes of starting a new life with her fiancé (Huston). Her recovery is threatened when she meets a bitter drug dealer who intends to destroy everything she’s worked toward.

Quavo, one-third of the Atlanta hip-hop trio Migos, will make his feature-film debut alongside Robert DeNiro, John Malkovich and Jack Huston in the forthcoming film “Wash Me in the River,” which is directed by Randall Emmett (“Midnight in the Switchgrass”) and is currently filming in Puerto Rico.

According to the announcement, Quavo (real name: Quavious Keyate Marshall) will play the role of Coyote, “a ruthless and heartless drug lord.” The second directorial outing by Emmett, the film is an action-thriller in the vein of “No Country for Old Men,” with an Adam Taylor Barker script focusing on a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on the dealer (Coyote) responsible for selling the drugs that resulted in his lover’s death.

Robert De Niro, Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker and John Malkovich are set to star in an action thriller called “Wash Me In The River” that hopes to begin production in November, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Randall Emmett is directing and producing the film that tells the story of an opioid addict who is out for revenge against the dealers that sold him drugs that caused the death of his fiancée, all while two cops are hot on his tail.

Emmett, a producer who recently paired with De Niro on “The Irishman,” is currently finishing up his directorial debut “Midnight in the Switchgrass” and is hoping to begin production on “Wash Me In The River” on November 9. Adam Taylor Baker wrote the script.

Additional casting is underway on “Wash Me In The River,” and rapper Quavo of the group Migos is also in talks to join the cast.

Exclusive: Bruce Willis has signed to star in three more pictures for Emmett/Furla Films. Eff co-CEOs Randall Emmett and George Furla have made 17 films with Willis, the latest of which is Midnight in the Switchgrass, a drama that marks the directorial debut of Emmett. The film, which also stars Megan Fox, Emile Hirsch and Colson ‘Machine Gun Kelly’ Baker, got five days into shooting in March, before being forced to close down because of the coronavirus pandemic.

That film is expected to resume production in Puerto Rico on June 29, pending clearances, and Willis will stay in Puerto Rico and move right into production on the first of the three pictures. One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray, Shea Buckner, Tyler Olson, Lydia Hull, and Jessica Abrams are set to co-star opposite Bruce Willis in The Long Night, an action thriller from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.

Directed by Matt Eskandari, the pic follows two ruthless criminals who break into a disgraced doctor’s home to be given medical attention after one of them is shot during a robbery gone wrong. Knowing that he lacks the expertise to patch up the injured trespasser, the doctor must protect his family at all costs.

Doug Wolfe penned the screenplay and production is currently underway. Randall Emmett and George Furla are producing with Tim Sullivan, Alex Eckert, and Ted Fox serving as executive producers.

Murray, who recurred on the latest seasons of CW’s Riverdale and Fox’s Star, is repped by Innovative Artists and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

The Man in the High Castle actor Carsten Norgaard is set to appear in Axis Sally, the Michael Polish-directed drama about the real-life story of Mildred “Axis Sally” Gillars, the American who unwittingly became the voice of German propaganda targeted to U.S. troops during World War II. Al Pacino and Meadow Williams star in the film, which was adapted by Vance Owen and Darryl Hicks based on William Owen’s book Axis Sally Confidential.

Norgaard will play program director Max Otto Koischwitz for the USA Zone and head of propaganda targeting U.S. troops during WWII.

Actress Nicky Whelan has been cast to star opposite Bruce Willis in the upcoming action movie “Trauma Center.”

Whelan, whose past credits include the Farrelly brothers’ “Hall Pass,” “The Wedding Ringer,” “Knight of Cups” and “Left Behind,” will play Madison opposite Willis’ Lt. Wakes in the film.

“Trauma Center” was written by Paul da Silva and is being produced by MoviePass’ Randall Emmett, George Furla and Lydia Hull.

The production begins principal photography this month in Miami.

The title represents part of a three-picture deal Willis recently signed with MoviePass Films — representing a longtime working relationship the actor has with Emmett and Furla, with whom he’s made more than 10 films, including 2011’s “Catch .44.”

Al Pacino and Meadow Williams have signed on to”Axis Sally,” the latest addition to MoviePass Films’ production slate.

The film is a true story drama Mildred Gillars, the woman who unwittingly became the voice of Nazi propaganda aimed at U.S. troops during World War II, earning the titular nickname.

Williams will play Gillars, with Pacino playing the lawyer tasked with representing Gillars after she was arrested on eight counts of treason. Vance Owen and Darryl Hicks wrote the script, which is adapted from the William Owen nonfiction book “Axis Sally Confidential.” Michael Polish will direct the film, which will start filming in January.

Exclusive: Al Pacino and Meadow Williams will star in Axis Sally, a Michael Polish-directed drama for MoviePass Films based on the true story of a woman who unwittingly became the voice of German propaganda targeted to American troops. Williams will play Mildred ‘Axis Sally’ Gillars and Pacino will play the attorney who represented her once she was arrested and put on trial in the States. Swen Temmel is also joining the cast. Swen Temmel rounds out the cast of the $25 million budget film.

Vance Owen and Darryl Hicks wrote the script, based on the book Axis Sally Confidential by William Owen. Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce with Vance Owen and Tucker Tooley. Ted Farnsworth will executive produce alongside Meadow Williams, Lydia Hull, and MoviePass Films’ Tim Sullivan and Alex Eckert.

Axis Sally, which is set to shoot January 22,is the latest addition to MoviePass Films’ already very ambitious slate.

Set to go before cameras next month in Ohio, the plot follows a man who loses ten minutes of his memory due to being hit by a stray bullet during a bank heist gone wrong. He must put the pieces of his broken memory together in order to find out who sabotaged the job and took the money, all while being pursued by a powerful crime boss hellbent on recovering the cash.

Meadow Williams, Swen Temmel, Sergio Rizzuto and Tyler Jon Olson were previously announced as part of the cast.

In the midst of financial struggles and constant changes to its service, MoviePass announced Tuesday that its new film production wing, MoviePass Films, will start production on “10 Minutes Gone,” an action thriller starring Bruce Willis.

This will be the first film produced by the new studio, which was created after MoviePass acquired Emmett Furla Oasis Films (Efo) back in May. MoviePass’ parent company, Helios & Matheson, holds 51 percent of MoviePass films with Efo holding the remainder. MoviePass is hoping to use its ticket subscription service to promote its films to subscribers.

Brian A. Miller will direct a script from Kelvin Mao and Jeff Jingle. Also starring is Meadow Williams who recently completed filming on Boss Level, opposite Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts, and After. It marks the fourth collaboration between Emmett, Furla, and Williams.

Swen Temmel, Sergio Rizzuto and Tyler Jon Olson round out the cast with more coming for a September 10 start date in Ohio. This will mark the third project for MoviePass Films after the mobster drama Gotti starring John Travolta and sorority thriller The Row starring Randy Couture and Lala Kent.

John Gotti Jr. thinks the story of his father’s life should at least be playing on a few more screens on the Gambino family’s home turf. The son of the notorious mobster is distressed that “Gotti” is only playing a few theaters in Brooklyn.

“It’s not being shown in areas where the story happened and that’s a shame,” he said. “I don’t get it.”

Gotti Jr. has been working on getting the film off the ground for nearly a decade, and the biopic starring John Travolta finally arrives at 503 theaters this weekend. But the low-budget drama could get whacked at the box office.

The long-gestating project, which was directed by “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly, is now saddled with a 0% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six reviews from the Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered on May 15 and Travolta made headlines boogieing onstage with 50 Cent at the after-party.

Fans rejoice. Take a deep breath and exhale. The sequel we’ve all been waiting for is only a few months away. I know you know we’re talking Escape Plan 2: Hades. Sylvester Stallone returns for the sequel, which finds his character Ray Breslin breaking In to a prison rather than breaking Out. Sly will be joined by franchise newcomer Dave Bautista. Bautista’s muscles fill in for Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will not be returning.

In all seriousness, the reason I like movies like this is because it doesn’t pretend to be anything its not. Either you like these silly action movies or you don’t. While I don’t necessarily always feel like watching something like this, occasionally it’s great. Like any junk food it must be consumed in moderation.

This sequel sees him in another inescapable techno-prison, surprise surprise, that is called "Hades". The film's ensemble cast features Dave Bautista, Jaime King, Wes Chatham, 50 Cent, Jesse Metcalfe, Baylee Curran, Lydia Hull, Ashley Cusato, and Vincent Young. This looks as bad (if not even worse) as it sounds, but it might be the kind of bargain bin entertainment that a few of you might need right now.

Vertical Entertainment has come aboard for U.S. theatrical distribution rights to Gotti, the pic about the famed mob boss that stars John Travolta and is directed by Kevin Connolly. The distributor will now team with Sunrider Productions to give the film a wide release June 15.

That’s the date Connolly pegged last month after its original December release date was scrapped, and the filmmakers exercised a buy-back clause with Lionsgate Premiere, which was giving the film a day-and-date VOD/theatrical release. The plan was to secure a new distributor that would do a wide release.

Sunrider’s Edward Walson who had purchased the film rights at the time, negotiated the new deal with Vertical along with Phillip Glasser.

“I have always been fascinated by the John Gotti story,” Walson said. “When I first saw the film, I knew it had a tremendous amount of potential, especially due to the terrific performance by John Travolta.

"I will build something that nobody can destroy."
