Two years have gone by since we heard that director Steven C. Miller (Silent Night) was heading into production on a werewolf horror film that, at the time, was going by the title Year 2. Last month, the film was given a wide theatrical release in the United States under the title Werewolves – and over the holidays, it was also given a VOD release. Now, we have learned that Werewolves will be reaching Blu-ray on February 4th, and copies are available for pre-order at This Link!

The Blu-ray release will have deleted scenes and trailers as special features.

Exclusive: Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group are set to release horror-thriller Werewolves, starring Frank Grillo (Captain America).

The two companies are planning a wide stateside release in theaters on December 6, 2024. Sales firm The Solution, which has recently sold Liam Neeson films The Ice Road and Mongoose, is growing its domestic distribution footprint and this marks their second release after Neeson pic Blacklight.

‘Werewolves’ – Steven C. Miller’s Werewolf Movie Formerly Titled ‘Year 2’ Starring Frank Grillo Nearing Completion

It’s been almost two years since we last reported on Steven C. Miller‘s werewolf movie Year 2,starring Frank Grillo. The filmmaker has offered recent updates on social media, teasing that the long wait for action werewolf carnage is nearly over and that it appears to have a new title: Werewolves.

The premise for Werewolves is described as “a supermoon event caused a latent gene to turn everyone exposed to the moonlight into a werewolf for one night. Millions died—and now, the supermoon is back.”

Katrina Law (“NCIS”) stars alongside Grillo as the brilliant geneticist, Dr. Amy Chen, who goes on a dangerous journey with Grillo’s character to saved loved ones, against a ticking clock.

That setup sounds like The Purge: Anarchy but with werewolves, and we’re so in.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to Last Night in Rozzie, a Boston-set drama starring Neil Brown Jr, Nicky Whelan, Jeremy Sisto and Kevin Chapman. Sean Gannet directed the pic, which will now get a day-and-date release beginning September 17.

Written by Ryan McDonough, the plot centers on New York lawyer Ronnie Russo (Brown) who becomes entangled in a complicated web of conflicting loyalties when summoned to his Boston hometown by a dying childhood friend (Sisto). Sent on a mission to fulfill his friend’s final wish – a reunion with his estranged son – Russo is forced to confront his past and a secret childhood trauma he’s kept hidden for more than 25 years.

Joseph Stephans, McDonough, Gannet, Kris Meyer, and Andrew Cahill are producers, and Tim O’Keeffe and Jennifer and Gregory Ezring executive produced. The deal was negotiated by Gravitas’ Sales & Acquisitions Manager David Sullivan and Circus Road Films’ Glen Reynolds.
